I have a genuine question: if you had the chance to contribute to a better planet, would you actually take it? People often ask me why I got into recommerce. The truth is, it’s about more than just offering high-quality second-hand products or running a traditional trade-in program. It’s about tackling the massive problem of e-waste, which is expected to reach 82 million tonnes annually by 2030. But here’s the thing: if 50% of Brits switched to refurbished devices in 2024, we could save 63,750,000 kg of carbon emissions. And then there's the money side of things. Recommerce isn’t just an environmental necessity; it’s also a commercial imperative. Retailers have a real opportunity to transform how they operate, and it starts with embracing circularity. With the demand for refurbished devices rising fast, we have a clear path to reduce e-waste, extend the lifespan of our tech, and create profitable business models that are better for the planet. This isn’t just about responding to a trend; it’s about leading a movement. We all play a crucial role in accelerating the transition to a more sustainable future for electronics. This is my call to arms, an invitation to you to rethink how we approach circularity, not as a buzzword but as a genuine strategy for change. There's something about stepping away from the office that really refreshes your perspective. Our team went into the woods for a few days to recharge, strategize, and build stronger bonds.
