The Relate Nottinghamshire team recently hosted a series of free events at the impressive new Nottingham Central Library. Throughout October, these events gave people the chance to connect with our counsellors at no cost, helping to break down myths and preconceptions about therapy. Reflecting on the sessions, Relate therapist and trustee Barbara Dunleavy shared her thoughts: "The sessions were all about fostering meaningful connections and encouraging open conversations about mental health. It's heartening to see our community embracing the opportunity to learn and grow together." The team is grateful to everyone who came along and joined the conversation!

Did you know we work with local authorities, family law experts and programmes like Family Hubs and Start for Life (via Department of Health and Social Care and Department for Education) to support early childhood development and strengthen families? One of our key initiatives is Co-Parenting Every Day (CoPE), a 7-session programme helping parents/carers develop essential co-parenting skills. We also offer Parenting When Separated, a groupwork course that supports separated parents in improving co-parenting relationships. Since 2018, our involvement in the Reducing Parental Conflict Programme has been making a real difference. According to Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), nearly three-quarters of parents reported a positive impact on their children a year after completing the programme. As you can tell, we're committed to creating lasting change for families. 💙 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/esHW4uSK

On World Menopause Day, let's talk about supporting women through menopause by strengthening relationships at home and work   Menopause is a significant life transition, and its impact on relationships—whether at home or in the workplace—is often misunderstood. While the physical and emotional changes can bring challenges, they also offer an opportunity for growth, deeper connection and improved understanding.   Relate counsellors understand how challenging this time can be, and have experience helping people navigate the impact of menopause on their relationships. This can be really useful in the workplace too for our partners who draw on our services to help improve employees' wellbeing.    What do you do in the workplace to help staff and their relationships during this life stage?
