Did you know Relate's National Partnerships team works with a range of benevolent charities to offer free Relate counselling for their beneficiaries? Over the 2023-4 period, we helped deliver nearly 13,000 sessions of counselling to over 4,400 beneficiaries, including dependents. What's even more wonderful is it's all free at point of entry. Carol Florin-White, National Partnerships Director, said “Our partnerships with benevolent charities are so important. We’ve seen demand for support from our partner beneficiaries increase by 80% over the last five years. We know from the impact data we collect that the services have a profound impact on mental wellbeing, home life and work life”. We can offer affordable packages that can include couples counselling, family counselling, children and young people’s counselling, and our short interventions. Whilst the specialised support we offer is person centred and there for as long as family needs, we will always recognise when we need to signpost families to other charities, whether that be to find support for siblings or a family whose bereavement isn’t able to be supported by us. We never wish to see anyone have to go it alone. We want to make sure bereaved families are getting the right support they need from the right people, and we recognise when other third sector organisations already offer something which may be beneficial to one of our families. For example, we will often refer families so they can have a quiet getaway at Poppy’s Place through Anam Cara Fasgadh or for sibling support we might suggest Child Bereavement UK or Crocus Highland. We welcome the chance to work collaboratively with other bereavement charities and third sector organisations as we believe there is no benefit in duplicating a service for the sake of it if one is already in place and working well elsewhere. We like to dovetail services wherever possible and welcome the chance to offer bereaved families well rounded and joined up support. Together we can make a difference to families who have experienced the death of their baby or young child - together, we care. #BLAW24 #BLAW #togetherwecare #babylossawarenessweek #pregnancyloss

The Children's Bereavement Centre, a small charity, making a BIG impact... In 2023, 💓 1,300 local children, young people and their parents/carers benefitted from 1:1 bereavement counselling and/or group activities 💓 153 professionals and parents/carers benefitted from bereavement and loss training to better support 100's of locally bereaved families 💓177 of telephone advice and guidance was provided 💓 100% of children and their families that accessed support felt they had benefitted We received only 3% of our income from statutory sources (this is not definite for future years and is only for our Bassetlaw service). The other 97% relies on donations from the community, local businesses, or Trusts. Our events and challenges are a crucial part of these donations, raising the funds we need to continue to operate and support local children and their families during one of the most devastating times in their lives. Thank you to all that support our small charity. Please see our website to see upcoming events and challenges: https://lnkd.in/ev-jeHA7 #smallcharityweek #community #bereavementsupport
