We understand that the arrival of a renewable energy project in a community often sparks both curiosity and concern. In a recent article for Power Engineering International, Rachel Anderson, our Global Head of Corporate Communications & Government Affairs, highlights how meaningful community engagement goes beyond simply communicating a project's vision and numbers – it’s about taking action that builds lasting trust and collaboration. People want to see real, tangible benefits, whether that’s discounted electricity or local investment. That’s why RES’ Local Energy Discount Scheme is such a crucial initiative. By helping those living near our renewable projects save on their energy bills, we show that renewables don’t just generate power – they also create real, sustainable value for the communities where we work. As we continue to drive the global transition to renewable energy, it’s essential that we constantly refine our approach to community engagement. What’s working well? What needs improvement? We’d love to hear your thoughts. Read the full article - https://bit.ly/3DxmLZ0

This week, our Digital and Services teams were on both sides of the Atlantic at two major O&M events: ACP's Operations, Maintenance & Safety Conference in Nashville, USA, and EXPOFIMER 2025 in Zaragoza, Spain. Across both, our experts engaged in discussions on how innovation and data-driven solutions enhance the performance and reliability of renewable energy assets. In Nashville, Gabriel Eslait, Senior Account Executive, Digital Solutions, joined industry experts to discuss real-time monitoring and predictive analytics - showcasing how advanced data tools enable proactive decision-making and fault detection to optimise performance. In Zaragoza, Spain, Juan Latorre Galera, South Europe Director Wind O&M, and Antonio J. Pérez Barroso, Spare Parts & Repair Manager, engaged in discussions on sector growth, revamping, and strategies to enhance asset performance. Across both events, RES continues to drive solutions that deliver long-term value for asset owners, strengthen industry collaboration, and support a safer, more efficient clean energy sector. A big thank you to AEMER - Asociación de Empresas de Mantenimiento de Energías Renovables, the Zaragoza Trade Fair, and American Clean Power Association (ACP) for hosting important conversations that shape the future of O&M. By combining expertise, digital innovation, and operational excellence, we’re helping to build a future where everyone has access to zero carbon energy. #OMS25 #EXPOFIMER #TogetherWeCan #PowerForGood

The UK’s Connections Reform package is now underway—a significant move towards tackling the grid backlog and unlocking the country’s clean energy future. For years, delays of up to 15 years have held back over £200bn of renewable projects, slowing investment and threatening 2030 clean power targets. Now, long-overdue reforms are reshaping the system, offering a pathway to faster, fairer grid connections. In a new opinion piece for Recharge ,our UK Energy Networks Director Patrick Smart explores the opportunities and challenges of this transformation. While managing change at this scale is complex, the shift represents exactly what industry has called for—a more transparent, coordinated, and strategic approach. To make these reforms a success, Patrick argues - the UK Government, NESO, and Ofgem must continue working closely with industry to accelerate permitting, invest in grid expansion, and create a smarter market design. This could be a turning point for the UK’s energy transition. We are actively supporting this shift because a modern, efficient grid is key to making clean power accessible and affordable for all. We're pleased to share more positive news from Sweden - RES has successfully completed the sale of the 70MW/160MWh Agamemnon battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Ånge. As one of Scandinavia’s largest storage projects, Agamemnon will be key to balancing Sweden’s renewable energy supply and enhancing grid stability, ensuring a more flexible and resilient power system. The project has been acquired by Delta Capacity, a Swiss-based battery storage developer, with financial backing from European investment bank WOOD & Company. Their investment highlights the growing importance of energy storage in enabling a flexible, resilient power system. Located near the Björnberget wind farm and the Alby Hydrogen project, Agamemnon will maximise the value of renewables while providing critical flexibility to Svenska Kraftnät, Sweden’s national grid operator. This is another milestone for our team in delivering innovative energy storage solutions that accelerate the transition to a fossil-free future.

We’re proud to announce that RES has been granted a US patent for our 3DX™ turbine blade inspection technology, marking a major step forward in wind farm maintenance and efficiency. Using drones, AI, and robotics, 3DX™ provides a complete internal and external view of blade damage for the first time. Until now, operators relied on only half the data, leading to increased maintenance costs and downtime. With this innovation, wind farm owners can detect issues earlier, extend turbine lifespans, and reduce long-term costs. Developed by Sulzer Schmid - acquired by RES in 2024 - this patented solution strengthens our growing suite of digital technologies, helping optimise asset performance and support a clean energy future.
