‼️ Last Chance To Book a Space ‼️ --- The announcement in the Budget on October 30th of new National Minimum Wage rates and a reminder of the plan for a single enforcement body - a Fair Work Agency – raised NMW up the agenda again. Combined with the increase in Employers National Insurance, our intelligence is suggesting that many employers are considering lower pay rates than they had planned, and more towards the NLW / NMW statutory minimum. On the back of these, Reward Heads have updated the coaching offerings to support our community. Our NMW online coaching module has been updated, including with 2025 rates and learnings we have made both from client engagements and updated HMRC guidance. You can access the module for £175 by following this link - National Minimum Wage. You might consider the pay bundle Pay Bundle or governance bundle Reward Governance which offer discounted packages including this module. Found here: https://lnkd.in/dXbywVmW We know from past experience how valuable participants find being able to talk through specific issues and so we plan to run a small group coaching session where we will give access to the module first and then run a Teams session for an hour for no more than 6 people plus our CEO Victoria Milford and NMW expert Stephanie King to answer any questions and discuss how we would approach any self-audit on NMW. This would be £425 (plus VAT) in total including module access (Stripe link below). We plan to run this on Tuesday 14th January 1pm to 2pm One further option is to book time with Victoria Milford and Stephanie King to talk through NMW risks at your organisation. Please get in touch with victoria@rewardheads.co.uk to discuss that. Reward Heads would, of course, be delighted to help you work through any issues relating to NMW. For the month of December, each of the Reward Heads team are looking forward to 2025 and what we see as some of the key trends in Reward - our Christmas gifts to our network! Reward Heads CEO Victoria Milford speaks on optimising your payroll spend: Organisations face a challenging 2025 with the backdrop of further significant increases in NMW, changes to employers NI and employees still feeling cost-of-living pressures. More than ever employers should be looking for ways to ensure they are optimising their payroll spend which in many cases will inevitably be much higher. Whilst some organisations will need to make cost savings, others will be looking to ensure they are effectively utilising what they spend. This might involve a tactical review of bonus and incentive programmes to ensure they are effective and are delivering return on investment. It could be reviewing benefits packages to ensure that they are really what employees want and value and that they are being delivered in the most cost-effective way. It could also involve a longer-term more strategic approach considering how the organisation might deliver greater productivity and business success and hence, in essence, ‘balance the books’ with the higher costs. This is no mean feat as it means engaged employees and teams working hard towards a common goal and purpose. It requires great leadership, culture, career development, aligned reward programmes and great communication. In fact, it pulls together everything we have covered in our series of top tips and surely is the vision and goal of every great Reward function. -- Reward Heads have a large range of online reward coaching modules, providing affordable, accessible, quality, and flexible content, found here: https://lnkd.in/dXbywVmW. For the month of December, each of the Reward Heads team are looking forward to 2025 and what we see as some of the key trends in Reward - our Christmas gifts to our network! Reward Heads Consulting Manager Hannah Armstrong speaks on Communication, Communication, Communication: Effective communication of everything that an employee gets from their employer – Total Reward - is becoming increasingly vital in today’s competitive job market. It is essential employees recognise the value of their total package but all too often there is a disconnect between what employers provide and what employees perceive. This can mean that elements of the package are not a good return on investment. Too often we see lots of energy put into launching benefits that have poor take up or are only mentioned once a year. We often say that reward schemes – and especially bonuses - are a key way for the CEO to effectively talk to every employee every day about what is important and valued but that opportunity is often not understood, and the focus and some behaviours may not be in line. Organisations can foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of their Total Reward offerings by implementing targeted strategies that address employee preferences and simplify complex information. Understand firstly how your employees like to receive information and segment your workforce so you can tailor communication effectively. Perhaps most importantly, make your communication continuous and monitor effectiveness so communication can constantly evolve to meet your employee needs. This proactive approach enhances employee satisfaction and strengthens retention and engagement in a competitive labour market where costs can be rising faster than revenues. Reward Heads Consulting Manager Christina Jones speaks on Pay transparency Pay transparency we predict could be THE topic of 2025. Whilst not yet legislated in the UK, pay transparency has gathered momentum in the EU and US and we believe in time this will ultimately land in the UK. Although more organisations are displaying salary ranges on job adverts very few are ready for the potential level of transparency that may lie ahead. As this is typically a 12- 18 month journey, organisations should start building their road map now and consider how they will tackle this challenging and complex agenda. This must start with the basics around reward philosophy and principles, robust levelling and benchmarking long before even considering the more daunting task of how to communicate and publish pay. We will be focusing on this topic and posting content to help you on your way, so stayed tuned! Reward Heads Senior Consulting Manager Jannine Smith speaks on pay rise trends: We have seen pay rises drop back slightly in 2024 to around 4.1%. With inflation settling around 2-2.5% we are expecting 2025 increases to level off below 4% once the impact of NMW and the changes to employers NI are known - our latest surveys with our forum groups suggests 3%. We predict that it will take some time before we return to the days of the 2% pay review pot. This means we will be seeing pay rises at a higher rate than inflation for the first time since the Covid pandemic. The larger than expected increase to National Living Wage, increase in employers National Insurance and lowering of the threshold means a more challenging picture next year especially for those in sectors with significant hourly paid populations. We predict a gradual and slow return to lower pay rises whilst the wider economic picture is still unpredictable and organisations also try to maintain employee expectations with continued pressures on cost of living. -- Reward Heads have a large range of online reward coaching modules, providing affordable, accessible, quality, and flexible content, found here: https://lnkd.in/dXbywVmW.
