With longtime partner, Simon Devine, from Riders for Health at the Global Digital Health Forum! We co-presented on building trust in frontline health systems, showcasing DataKind's Data Observation Toolkit (DOT). More on the digital public good here: https://bit.ly/3OD8Y4S
Over multiple projects, DataKind has partnered with Riders to harness data science for impactful solutions.
Most recently, we deployed DOT to automate anomaly detection on infectious disease test samples and results data in Lesotho, streamlining the timely and accurate transportation of over 400,000 specimens annually between 216 health facilities and labs, serving 2.2 million people. https://bit.ly/4imcxtR
In 2020, we collaborated to enhance Riders’ system for optimizing courier routes in Lesotho, ensuring faster, more reliable healthcare delivery to hard-to-reach communities. https://bit.ly/41fpXlu
In 2019, we developed ROCR, a tool using optical character recognition (OCR) to digitize handwritten sample transport records for Riders’ operations in Nigeria, serving over 20 million people and significantly reducing data entry delays. https://bit.ly/4ixzJ8S
These collaborations have contributed to supporting Riders' operations, building trust in frontline health data, enhancing service quality and decision-making, and improving health outcomes for communities across its operational countries.
If you’re working on an initiative to get insights from your datasets and improve data quality, make sure to check out DOT at https://bit.ly/3OD8Y4S or get in touch at partners@datakind.org!
