With nearly 20% of school children in the UK having special educational needs or disabilities, it’s more important than ever that our learning spaces support them. The challenge? Many schools can only make improvements outside of term time. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be creative. It’s not always about big budgets - sometimes, small thoughtful changes can transform the learning experience. 🌊 The new National Flood Risk Assessment (NaFRA) is a game-changer for landowners and developers, offering the most detailed flood risk data yet. For the first time, it integrates climate change projections, uncovering previously unmapped risks and highlighting increased threats in many areas. Higher resolution mapping, detailed flood depth data and climate change integration means sharper insights into site-specific flood hazards, helping developers plan smarter and landowners protect their assets more effectively. As part of their long-term flood risk mapping, the Environment Agency has updated rivers and sea flood risk, surface water flood risk and reservoir flood risk. Watch the video below to see the impact on our offices 📍 Seemingly in response to the increased risk of flooding revealed in the new NaFRA, the Government has pledged an extra £250m (a total of £2.6bn) funding over the next two years for flood defences in England. We’re expanding our capabilities with the launch of a new utility surveying service – and leading the charge is Michael Wood. Michael brings two decades of experience in the field, having worked across the UK and internationally. As a Chartered Member of Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES), he’s an expert in mapping underground infrastructure to reduce risk, enhance project efficiency, and improve safety.
