It is that time of year to look back on 2024 and look forward to 2025! For RIEGL UK Ltd it has been a successful year, delivering systems and training to our customers across the RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems portfolio. We were especially pleased to deliver airborne systems; two of these were bespoke designs, incorporating both our high-end #UltimateLidar and a camera array to meet customer specifications. This also meant we could bring a slightly older system up to meet the same spec as the new for one customer. All are up and running, delivering high quality data for their needs. We should be able to reveal a little more of what our customers were able to achieve in the New Year - just the first 2 reason to keep up to date with RIEGL in 2025!! We add to that ULS and Bathymetric systems to our delivery list - bathymetric lidar is particularly pleasing given the difficult deployment areas. We'll have more bathy news next year also! Mobile mapping is also coming back in vogue 😉. System delivered and 6-weeks of hectic demos with our VMX-2HA - if you missed out on learning just how effective our mobile mapping solutions are, contact the office to discuss our processes and software. As with all RIEGL systems, we feature multi-target responses and on-board waveform which offers excellent data quality and high efficient capture and process. And then finally, we've been blown away by the reception we have received when showing the RIEGL #VZ600i terrestrial laser scanner. Taking productivity to a new level, retaining high accuracy, combined with ease of use, short and long range and kinematic functionality it really is a Swiss army knife of tools as one customer said. Fast laser scanning, on-board registration, images at the same time as scanning, and equally fast processing in software. "It doesn't mess about..." as another customer commented - just with a bit more Anglo-Saxon wordage! What do I want to talk about, asks LinkedIn... Well, let's talk about right tools for the job. We'll start off with the RIEGL #VZ600i terrestrial laser scanner. Fast, very fast. Easy to use. Productive. Rapid data collection. Did we mention fast? The modern building however can create a potential problem; well not a problem, but more work. You know, all the vehicles and people passing through the area, and so much glass. Solar glass panels designed to reflect sunlight create many reflections. So let's see how we can work this out as simply as possible. Next tool: Within RiSCAN we have two algorithms to detect and flag moving objects and other spurious reflections/data. No double scan required. However, there are still many reflections to deal with. Using another tool we can create clusters of data from which we can define a plane. That has vector, and given we know the direction the scan data was created, we can then assess what is a reflection. And wow! Easy process, data identified, ready to be cleaned out. We have had a great time showcasing the RIEGL VMX-2HA mobile mapping system. It's been a blast showcasing the systems flexibility and ease of use, both when out driving, and the processing of software, producing a coherent pointscloud easily from multiple passes, reverse routes, roundabouts. Race tracks 🏎️ , ring roads, city highways, motorways 🚗 🚙 🚚 , and even runways 🛫 . 16 and 17th October we will be at Highways UK NEC - come join us at booth 389 in Hall 5 to discuss how effective RIEGL mobile mapping systems are and view some of the data we have captured.
