📣 Our final blog in our Gender Mainstreaming Series is up! Our two previous blog posts have hopefully provided a concise introduction to the important definitions, theories, and approaches surrounding gender and intersectionality. Our final post is our step-by-step guide to integrating gender+ and intersectionality in project design. ℹ The guide consists of clear and comprehensible steps that can be incorporated into your organisation’s next, or even existing, projects and programmes. In many of the projects we work on, we often see that gender and intersectionality are not fully embedded in the project design. It can be hard for organizations to know where to start with some of these topics, so we’ve created a three-part introductory blog series about incorporating gender+ and intersectionality in project design. Check out our first part of the series which covers the key terms and definitions that will be helpful for engaging with gender and intersectionality, and for understanding the next two blog posts. This blog series was co-authored by Patrick Regan and Raphaela Van Oers. https://lnkd.in/dnkx_NwJ #gender #intersectionality #monitoring #impactassessment #humanrights #projectdesign

An oldie but a goodie. One of the first blogs we published was on the role of accountability in evaluation. Three years since we wrote it, many organisations, partners and fellow consultants ask us about it. The key take-aways: 💰 Even though it is donors who fund your work, NGOs should hold themselves accountable to the communities and individuals they seek to drive change for (this is why you get funding in the first place - to support positive social change for different communities). 💚 You can build accountability (and more impactful projects) by making sure affected communities and their perspectives are centered in all aspects of your work - from strategy, to project design and monitoring and evaluation. ✊ Accountability to affected communities means accountability to ALL parts of the communities you serve (thinking about those most marginalized and facing multiple forms of discrimination). #evaluation #accountability #socialchange #participation #communities #intersectionality https://lnkd.in/dS6izw7w

This year RES entered its 6th year of providing rights based strategy and learning support ! It was about time for a website refresh. In the process, we were reminded of just how many projects we have done (over 50!), and how many different organisations we have gotten to work with (almost 30!). Check out our new website to learn more about RES, our work and what we can offer: https://lnkd.in/dmw3ZccD
