Supporting safe transfers for young patients 🚑 At the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, around 20 children each year need to be transferred to other hospitals for specialised care. To ensure their safety, babies and children travel in car seats inside ambulances, accompanied by medical staff. However, their old car seats didn't pass their safety expiration, so we funded new ones to guarantee safe journeys for these young patients. These car seats will also help the HDU team train new parents on proper use before they head home, giving them confidence for their child’s discharge. Spending time in hospital over the Christmas period isn’t fun for anyone, but it’s even worse for children 🩺 We want to take Christmas to these children by delivering gifts to the hospital, putting on Christmas parties and festive activities, bringing Santa and donkeys to the hospitals, as well as delivering Christmas meals and hampers to families on Christmas day 🎄✨ But we can’t do any of this without your help. 🎄 CHRISTMAS OFFICE HOURS! 🎅🏻 We will be taking calls up to and including Christmas Eve, but the Rockinghorse team won't be in the office after 2pm on Friday 20 December. If you have any present collections that you would like to drop off to us, please make sure they get to us by 5pm on Thursday 19 December, so we have time to deliver them 🎁 The office will then be closed from Wednesday 25 December until Thursday 1 January.
