Supporting safe transfers for young patients 🚑 At the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, around 20 children each year need to be transferred to other hospitals for specialised care. To ensure their safety, babies and children travel in car seats inside ambulances, accompanied by medical staff. However, their old car seats didn't pass their safety expiration, so we funded new ones to guarantee safe journeys for these young patients. These car seats will also help the HDU team train new parents on proper use before they head home, giving them confidence for their child’s discharge.
