Rolfe Judd is seeking to recruit an exceptional Project Architect (RIBA Part III or equivalent), to join our London studio to work on our portfolio of exciting, large-scale, residential developments in the UK. The successful candidate must have proven experience of designing and delivering high-quality residential buildings across a range of project scales and complexities through RIBA Stages 1-4, with impeccable design ability, strong technical knowledge and communication skills being crucial for this role. You should have 3-5 years post Part III (ARB registered) UK based employment, experience in the day-to-day running of large-scale, complex residential buildings and mixed-use projects, be confident dealing with clients and consultant teams, be a proactive project leader with a collaborative mindset, as well as having an in-depth understanding of planning policy, technical design standards and legislation. The redevelopment of 1-4 Kingly Street and 3 Kingly Court for Shaftesbury Capital PLC is now complete, involving the refurbishment and extension of four buildings, with the aim of creating unified, high-quality office spaces on the upper floors while retaining the bar and restaurant uses of the ground floor and basement. The works focused on enhancing the quantity and quality of office space, responding to the needs of the Carnaby Estate by upgrading the existing buildings to contemporary standards. A key driver was the desire to provide level access throughout by introducing a new lift core and levelling the floor slabs which was challenging given the variety of façade styles across the site.   This retrofit represents a forward-thinking approach, blending historical preservation with modern sustainability and energy efficiency practices to create a high-quality mixed-use space in the heart of the Carnaby Estate. #centrallondon #retrofit #mixedusescheme https://lnkd.in/eYvWYb73

We are immensely proud of our Part 2 Architectural Assistant Nimra Shahid, for winning the RIBA London Student Award 2024! Her awarded project, The Out of Reach Oasis, explores how architecture can unite urban infrastructure and green spaces, emphasising the coexistence of community and industry. Nimra was also nominated for the prestigious RIBA Dissertation Medal. We are very excited to share that Richmond Square have been awarded as the Best Residential Development, London category for sites with 20 homes or more by The International Property Awards (UK section).   Richmond Square will provide 55 beautifully designed apartments and one magnificent town house combining traditional and heritage values. The site is located conveniently for Central London commuting and a short walk to the artisan shops, boutique restaurants, River Thames and cultural facilities for which Richmond is well known. Formally a Georgian house built in 1750 with Victorian, Edwardian and 20th Century additional wings, the site incorporates listed buildings and facades of local merit. We are happy to share that The Triangle Site at East Ferry Road has been approved by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This scheme will provide 26 new residential homes ranging from one bedroom to four-bedroom apartments-and among these, 10% will be wheelchair accessible or adaptable and 18.3% will be affordable-; and 81 sqm of valuable flexible commercial floorspace at the ground floor. It will provide a positive contribution to LBTH housing targets, removing a vacant derelict site, and optimising brownfield land within an urban location. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, with a car-free design, ample cycle parking, and sustainable urban drainage features. The scheme aims to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating through sustainable design features and energy-efficient systems along with a significant reduction in carbon emissions, surpassing regulatory standards by 78.72%. It will also incorporate elements to enhance biodiversity, including additional trees, green walls, biodiverse green roofs, and habitat creation, with a targeted biodiversity net gain of 130%.
