Rossendale Tech Talks Are a Thing! Last night, we got together at our regular home for the Rossendale Tech Talks - The Bike Hub hosted by the lovely Melanie Duffin and Dom. For a wet Wednesday evening in Rossendale, we did well to get everybody together in one place. We spend the first 30-45 relaxing and networking freely (no 60 seconds required 😀), allowing people to catch up after work and wind down a bit before we get stuck in. We invite a guest speaker to each event and last night it was the wonderful Jason Kingston FRSA Jason took us through an interesting and engaging talk on business processing modeling for manufacturing, software engineering and all in between. He explained differences between Lean and Six Sigma and led us into a Q&A to wrap up the evening. We had LOTS of questions including whether there is still a place for the BA role versus Product Owner, how we can encourage startups to define the processes from the offset, the importance of WHY etc. Despite the session ending at 7pm, many of us stuck around at the end to discuss the future of Rossendale Digital and what we, as a community, want, need to do and how we can get Rossendale on the map, as it were. Joined up thinking is the way forward! We think we're on to something here .... We missed our students from Nelson and Colne College Group - wishing you the best of luck in exams! and Accrington & Rossendale College who were out on a trip... See you at the next one! 🚀 Wrapping Up Phase 1 of the Rossendale Modern Worker for the Modern Workplace Programme! 🚀 It's been an incredible journey so far! The businesses that have participated in Phase 1 of this programme have already seen massive benefits, and it’s amazing to see the excitement as we now look ahead to Phase 2. Phase 2 will be all about providing practical methods for embedding the training into real-world business operations. We can’t wait to see how these businesses take their new skills and transform their workplace culture.
