About us
The Royal Shakespeare Company creates theatre at its best, made in Stratford-upon-Avon and shared around the world. We produce an inspirational artistic programme each year, setting Shakespeare in context, alongside the work of his contemporaries and today’s writers. Everyone at the RSC - from actors to armourers, musicians to technicians - plays a part in creating the world you see on stage. All our productions begin life at our Stratford workshops and theatres and we bring them to the widest possible audience through our touring, residencies, live broadcasts and online activity. So wherever you experience the RSC, you experience work made in Shakespeare’s home town. We have trained generations of the very best theatre makers and we continue to nurture the talent of the future. We encourage everyone to enjoy a lifelong relationship with Shakespeare and live theatre. We reach 530,000 children and young people annually through our education work, transforming their experiences in the classroom, in performance and online. Registered charity no. 212481

We're thrilled to announce that an estimated 24,000 young people will see a Shakespeare production in their school hall or local theatre in 2025 as we step up our touring activity. Our Director of Creative Learning and Engagement, Jacqui O’Hanlon, says: "Access to the arts in schools is at a crossroads after being eroded over many years with thousands of young people denied the sorts of experiences that we know positively impact on life chances and learning outcomes. "Taking our work directly into schools and communities we see the very real difference that expressive arts subjects and experiences make to children’s lives. We believe that the very best way for Shakespeare’s work to be experienced by young people is through performance; and we believe that live theatre and an arts-rich education are the right of every child." #Arts #Youngpeople #Shakespeare https://lnkd.in/er_J_-pE Photo by Joe Bailey (c) RSC.

Well done to Tom Parker, our Rooftop Restaurant Chef de Partie, who got to the final of the 2024 British Culinary Federation's Young Chef of the Year, no mean feat for a competition oversubscribed with entries. #Proud #Finalist #Celeberatingstaff 👏
So incredibly proud of Tom Parker, our chef de partie who took part in the 2024 British Culinary Federation’s Young chef of the year final in Birmingham last week. The competition was oversubscribed which shows there is passionate talent in kitchens throughout the land. We nurture this inspirational talent at the Royal Shakespeare Company and are lucky to have a brilliant Head chef, Jim who is leading the way. Huge congratulations Tom! #RSC #welovecatering
