Childhood vaccine uptake is falling. Over 100,000 children currently lack MMR protection in England. But our latest piece of research shows that communities want to have more conversations about vaccines. Parents, carers and professionals told us that they need culturally competent information about vaccines, and spaces to ask questions without time limits in order to feel informed to make decisions about their family's health. We're calling for: ➡️ Support for the public health workforce to deliver information in a way that works for communities ➡️ Co-production of communication strategies with the communities they are aimed at ➡️ Restoration of continuity of care in the vaccine system ➡️ Bringing conversations to where people are - particularly in areas where childhood vaccination rates are low We need a vaccine system that makes healthy choices easy choices. Today the Government published its Get Britain Working white paper 📑 Joining the dots between our workplaces and our health is absolutely critical to building a healthier Britain 🤝 It is encouraging to see the Government’s new white paper explicitly recognise the role of employers in promoting better health outcomes for their workers. Everyone employed in the UK should have the right to a healthy workplace. We hope the independent review into the role of UK employers in promoting health will recommend an ambitious level of minimum support for all employees. This is especially important as our research shows that 10 million people currently lack access to any workplace health support. https://lnkd.in/edzVP-KP

Smoking is the leading cause of premature death and disability in the UK. It kills two-thirds of lifelong users and places a strain on our health system. The passing of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill is a world-leading piece of legislation that brings us one step closer to a smoke-free generation. We urge MPs to help make that a reality tomorrow. 🚭 We know that most smokers regret starting. This Bill will save tens of thousands of lives, and the health and care system billions of pounds. Phasing out the sale of tobacco and taking a strong regulatory approach to vaping will protect future generations from the dangers of tobacco. https://lnkd.in/eT9Gkdyc
