Meet Priyesh, our CEO Priyesh is the financial brains in our operation with a BA and MA (BSc and MSc) in Economics and a PhD in Mathematics. He began his career as a proprietary derivatives trader, where he honed his skills in financial strategy and market analysis. Since then, Priyesh has ventured into managing various alternative investment vehicles in fixed-income and equity markets and advising numerous startups on strategic growth. His deep understanding of market dynamics and strategic insight have been instrumental in shaping Sano's vision and direction. As CEO of Sano, Priyesh focuses on bringing strategic and commercial direction to the company and guiding the team as they work on transformative solutions in the construction sector. He believes our sector is ripe for disruption and is passionate about driving change to address one of society's most pressing challenges—quality, affordable housing. His vision for Sano is inspired by his drive to leverage technology to solve large-scale societal problems. After witnessing the transformative effects of technology in the finance and healthcare sectors, he saw a unique opportunity to apply similar innovations to the construction industry. Priyesh firmly believes that quality housing is a basic need and a catalyst for well-being, economic growth, and prosperity. Priyesh brings our team a wealth of expertise in strategy, market analysis, and commercial development. He emphasizes a flexible approach that combines on-site and off-site techniques, advocating for a solution that does not prescribe specific materials, house types, or suppliers but instead fosters collaboration across the supply chain to build better homes faster.  He predicts that the future of affordable housing will be shaped by more significant financial incentives for quality construction, increased adoption of modern construction methods (MMC), and a stronger emphasis on social value and tenant satisfaction. Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner addressed the Social Housing Annual Conference this week, reaffirming the government's commitment to tackling the housing crisis by significantly increasing the supply of social and affordable housing. With over 1.2 million households on waiting lists and 150,000 children living in temporary accommodation, urgent action is needed. It helps that the politician with this brief has lived experience of why council housing is so important.   Rayner pledged to build more social homes than are currently being lost, aiming to provide secure and sustainable housing for families and communities. She acknowledged the impact of past underinvestment and restrictive policies, emphasising her dedication to transforming housing and meeting the needs of those most affected.   From Sano's perspective, this aligns perfectly with our mission to simplify and modernise housing delivery through innovative solutions like the M-Dock system. With a background in Chemistry and Nuclear Chemistry, and holds a Master's in Chemistry and a PhD focused on the recyclability of legacy nuclear waste. DJ has over a decade of experience driving innovation across industries,   DJ began his career at Nerudia, a pioneering startup in the vaping and tobacco industry. There, he led product innovation, development, and the establishment of intellectual property frameworks. Following Nerudia's acquisition by an FTSE 30 company, DJ led the Vision Team, which focused on anticipating future consumer needs and developing forward-thinking products.   As the Co-Founder and COO of Sano, DJ is unwavering in his dedication to our mission of creating healthy homes for everyone. In this role, he is responsible for setting and implementing the company's overall vision, mission, and strategy, managing the internal team and engaging with key stakeholders. With over ten years of expertise in innovation, ideation, and IP protection, he applies a deep scientific methodology to address complex problems and drive holistic solutions.   DJ's passion lies in making a meaningful impact in the housing sector. He is a strong advocate for sustainable, high-performing homes that enhance the quality of life. This commitment, which is a testament to his personal values and interests, is sure to inspire those who share his vision.   Outside of Sano, he is a devoted family person, married with three young children. A big fan of Disney, DJ finds continuous inspiration in its creativity and innovation. When not working or with his family, DJ serves on the boards of governors for several local primary schools, one of which he chairs.   Despite holding significant leadership roles, DJ considers himself an introverted extrovert. He constantly strives to overcome imposter syndrome while making a positive impact.
