Our first cohort have graduated from the Scottish Impact Investor Readiness Programme and what a talented group of business leaders they are, we wish them all the best on their future journey.
Earlier this month we had the pleasure of hosting a Graduation Celebration for the first cohort of the Scottish Impact Investor Readiness Programme. This programme was developed by Strathclyde Executive Education and Development in partnership with the The Scottish National Investment Bank. Through the utilisation of world-class internationally recognised research and the participation of expert practitioners, we were able to deliver a programme with a focus on expanding knowledge of responsible, purposeful growth and the creation and measurement of meaningful impact. Key topics included building foundations for sustainable growth; policy, community, and governance; measuring and communicating impact; and financing impact. Some wonderful takeaways from the programme include: ✅ 18 senior leaders of Scottish-based SMEs successfully took part in the programme ✅ 100% stated they would recommend the programme to others ✅ 90% of the participants surveyed have already utilised tools and knowledge from the programme to help with future decision making in their business ✅ Nearly 30% of participants were female One participant commented - “This has been an amazing programme, so many takeaways and practical tools. There’s lots to consider, think about and prioritise for our business (prioritise being key!) the structure and peer learning throughout the programme has been really useful and I’ve made new connections. Thanks to everyone involved in designing such a fab programme. Loved it!” Graduates from the programme will now benefit from the Universities’ wrap around SME scale up support in the form of an Alumni club. Congratulations to all of our participants! Our senior associate, Rebecca Currie has been coaching two junior teams as part of the Future Asset Competition. A brilliant programme aimed at encouraging girls to explore a career in investment 🙌 #FutureAssets #WomenInFinance
Senior Associate @ The Scottish National Investment Bank | Equity Investing | Management Today 35 Women Under 35 Winner
Today marked my last visit to Preston Lodge (my old high school!) visiting the two junior teams I’ve had the pleasure of coaching over the last couple of months as part of the Future Assets Competition. Visiting the school again has been a very nostalgic and humbling experience - specifically when one of the girls informed me she was born in the year I left!! 😂 It felt surreal to be on the other side, helping inspire and encourage a new generation of young girls to explore the world of investing – a field I never imagined stepping into at their age. With only 2% of capital being allocated to female entrepreneurs, it’s more important than ever to encourage young girls to pursue careers in finance. By fostering a new wave of female allocators and investors, we can start to shift those statistics and move the dial on gender equality in the industry!! 💪🏼 Seeing their passion and curiosity reminds me of where I started, and I’m really proud to have been able to offer them some guidance and insight into a career path that has been so transformative for me. I can’t wait to see what they achieve! Thank you to the Future Asset Programme for this amazing opportunity and to Sandy MacDonald FICRS for introducing me! 🥰 #FutureAssets #WomenInFinance #Investing #EmpoweringGirls #PrestonLodge

It's been four years since the Bank started up and in that time we have committed over £662m and crowded in over £1.4bn to the Scottish economy across 37 diverse businesses. We asked some of our people for their reflections on how they feel about working here. We want to thank them, our investees and the wider business community for their support in working towards our missions.
