On this day in 1997, Money Mate Credit Union was founded to support officers and staff of Avon and Somerset Police 📆 In 2003, the credit union merged with six others to establish the credit union we are today at Serve and Protect. Introducing the Friends of Serve and Protect Community Fund 🎉 The Community Fund supports initiatives for welfare support, grants or sponsorship which are for the greater good and benefit of the Serve and Protect community. The Community Fund recently supported an initiative within London Fire Brigade to remember a former colleague... "We are delighted to have been awarded a grant from the Friends of Serve and Protect Community Fund, which we will use to create a Memorial Garden in memory of our colleague, Barrie. The garden will be a peaceful place for firefighters to relax and reflect, and is much needed at our busy two pump station. We hope this peaceful place will encourage firefighters to talk about their feelings and worries, and to reach out for help when they need it." - Hannah Gould, London Fire Brigade.
