About us
Services For Education Limited is an education and training charity (charity no. 1148848) based in Birmingham. Established in 2012, Services For Education is part-funded by the Arts Council, England and comprises the Music Service and the School Support Service. The Music Service, which is one of the largest in the country, works across 384 of the city’s schools, teaching music to 32,000 children. It also provides 28,000 musical instruments free-of-charge. The School Support Service provides expert and professional training and development to teaching and support staff in over 550 schools in the West Midlands. Let's Cook! 👩🍳 Today and tomorrow two teachers in each of our Health for Life primary schools will take part in The Let’s Cook Project’s Let's Cook Training - training them to be well prepared for teaching cooking to pupils aged 5-11. The training covers all elements, including safe use of real kitchen equipment, knife skills, cross contamination, hygiene, peeling chopping and the preparation of a variety of delicious and healthy recipes. The Let's Cook training is highly enjoyable (and delicious), receiving extremely positive feedback; teachers report that they have much greater confidence when cooking with pupils back in our Health for Life schools and that they have productive days cascading the training to other staff back in their setting.
