Excuse us while we ugly cry 😭
What a whirlwind week it’s been! From winning Silver at the The Anthem Awards to snagging a First-Place Grand Winner spot at last night's Shorty Awards in the Human Rights category for our campaign with Amnesty International UK—‘Before Our Eyes’! 🎉
When we first received this brief, it felt like a golden ticket. To work with the force that is Amnesty International, to create a campaign that shifts how people feel about human rights, and to do it with none other than Olivia Colman lending her incredible voice and gravitas—it was an opportunity we knew really mattered.
‘Before Our Eyes’ was about amplifying stories that often go unheard and shining a light on the humanity and resilience behind the struggles. To tell this story in a completely new way felt like such a privilege. And that’s the word we keep coming back to this last week: privilege.
As creatives, we have the privilege to tell powerful stories. More than that, we have the privilege to shape culture, influence how people see the world, and drive real change.
But with that privilege comes responsibility: to amplify voices that are often silenced—those of marginalised communities, those with lived experiences of hardship, and those standing bravely against oppression.
At a time when human rights are under threat globally, it’s more important than ever to shine a light on these struggles and celebrate the resilience of those fighting for justice.
This award means so much because it’s a sign that the fight is worth it. It reminds us of why we do what we do: to spark change, provoke action, and shift the narrative toward a fairer future for all.
A huge thank you to the Shorty Impact Awards, Amnesty International, and everyone who believed in this campaign. Also a massive shoutout to the brilliant team behind this campaign: Zoë Jessica Dawson, Leila Hashemi, Louise Cowley, Hermione Ruff, Haseeb Qureshi, Joel Harvey, Raphaël Smith, Edwina Kan, Tat Radcliffe, Catherine Morshead.
Here’s to using creativity to truly shape history, together.
If you want to create something meaningful, you know where to find us—at Shape History (it’s in the name, after all) 😉
