"Creative health", arts and creativity which improves wellbeing, is seen across academia, public health and local government as a clear route to health improvement. But initiatives still face many barriers to funding- why? Thrilled to share that Shared Intelligence took home two awards on Tuesday at the LARIA Research Impact Awards. I’m really proud to say that I was highly commended in the New Researcher of the Year category! It was a great honor to be recognised alongside so many excellent researchers and analysts from local authorities across the country. We’re also thrilled to have been highly commended in the Best Use of Local Area Research category our project Mind the Gap: How Patients Experience Hospital Discharge, delivered with our brilliant colleague James McLintock at Moresight. A huge thank you to LARIA (Local Area Research and Intelligence Association) and the Local Government Association for this recognition and for hosting such an engaging conference. I've worked with South London Gallery for three years evaluating their art and play programme on the Sceaux Gardens Estate. It is striking how the most important outcomes are the most prosaic: the wellbeing boost for parents who can go shopping while their children are at the art club, the lessening of the load on familes because staff help with behaviour management and help their children form friendship groups.
