About us
Combating water and energy waste, our vision is to change people’s relationship with water and empower both users and organisations to create a lasting impact on the environment and its communities. The Showerkap platform enables businesses to monitor and manage water in granular detail – delivering valuable insights that were previously hidden and reducing water and energy waste and carbon emissions. It gives building managers the tools to gain full visibility of a building’s water use – from a managed office space to a hotel with hundreds of rooms – metrics like volume, temperature and duration are all visible. Our unique, automated platform continuously monitors, reports, analyses, and improves water use and efficiency using real-time insights and data-driven optimisation. It improves water stewardship by engaging guests and staff with soft nudges, such as tips for water saving. Our innovation combines engineering and behavioural science in first-of-its-kind smart technology. The system features a smart box connected to flow meters, centralised cloud system and mobile app, to remotely monitor and manage water temperature and safety. It allows businesses to lower carbon emissions and enables the pursuit of net-zero targets to help meet the SD6 UN Goals for Sustainability reporting. Our business strategy is to partner with some of the planet’s largest water consumers, including hotels and universities, and we are in partnership discussions with some of the UK’s leading businesses.

🌍 This week, the Global Water Monitor report was released – starting this year with the cold, hard truth: the climate crisis is ‘wreaking havoc’ on our water cycles. The hottest year on record, 2024 reveals a pattern of alarming water cycle disruption. A warmer planet means extraordinary weather – and more flooding, drought and disruption. Water-related disaster scenarios saw 40 million flee from their homes and £445bn of financial loss. Record lows are noted too, which means water scarcity is at the other extreme. We can’t afford to lose the lives and livelihoods of millions, and our water supplies are fragile – read more from the #WaterMonitorReport, which includes detailed maps of each country; and from The Guardian Environment Editor, Damian Carrington’s coverage 👇 #WaterReport #WaterTech #WaterScarcity #Warming #Floods #Drought https://lnkd.in/dDBEJjkP

🚿𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟭: "𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿... 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?" According to Waterwise, the average shower in the UK uses around 120 litres of water, this is based on an average shower time of 10 minutes using 12 litres a minute. Consider a family of four showering once a day – you can see why the shower is one of our biggest points of domestic water use. Through a combination of behavioural change and technical solutions – such as our Nexus shower valve and our Water Management Systems – we can reduce shower times and unlock significant water and energy savings. #Showertimes #DomesticWateruse #Showekap #WaterTech #WaterScarcity

🐏 Colorado State University ╳ 💧Showerkap We recently worked with the Colorado State University College of Business on a report exploring reducing water use and waste in student accommodation – a big thank you to Karli Barrett, Julia Oleksiak, Raza Mukhergee, Christian Kadletz, and Kennedy Addington, and all the amazing students – around 100 of them – involved. CSU is renowned for its environmental focus, so it’s been a real pleasure to work together. 💡🚿 So what did we learn? Understanding how much water is used, and when, is vital. Gamifying water and energy-savings could hold the key to behaviour change. Students are motivated by sustainability alone, but it’s more powerful when financial incentives are also present. And there’s a much wider outlook, with proposals for other universities to combat water scarcity and usage – especially those in water scarce areas, like Arizona State University and University of California in Los Angeles, with suggestions for data collection and pilot projects. Preserving this precious, limited resource for future generations is our core mission – and that’s why we’re working with the next generation to reduce water scarcity, and change the way we think about water. #BusinessForABetterWorld #ColoradoState #SustainablestudentAccommodation #SustainableStudents #RockyMountains #WaterTech #WaterManagement #ImpactMBA
