And what bet would you place on AI Search vs. Google/Bing Search and Video Search by 2030?
Today, within the SEO team at Skale, we made a big future bet for what the future holds for Search. What will the landscape look like in 2030 vs. what it looks like today? *Search Today:* - Google & Bing: ~85% - Video Search: ~7% - AI Search: ~5% (others = ~3%) *Search in 2030:* - Google & Bing: 50% - AI Search: 30% - Video Search: 20% The brands who win at organic search are those who start accepting and adapting to this change right now. Too many brands, agencies & SEOs are in denial. They think losing TOFU traffic is fine because its 100% vanity, and that all the BOFU traffic will stay on Google. They are wrong and completely misunderstand marketing fundamentals. We’re actively analyzing, shaping, and measuring this change. Over the coming months, we’ll begin rolling out our approach to Search with the SaaS brands we partner with. For example, reporting on Search Console data alone (or Ahrefs for the matter) is going to be totally unacceptable. Instead: -> Bake AI Search referral traffic into SEO reporting by adding a custom reporting channel in GA4 -> Build out a self-attribution reporting framework so you can track 0-click channels -> Start measuring your category keyword position ranking in AI search such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI overviews. Do you agree?
