It was perfect for me as I get to travel the country and be hands-on. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows; it is hard work, and you’ve got to be willing to learn and put in the effort. But seeing the results of your work makes it all worth it in the end. I chose to do an apprenticeship instead of following other educational routes because you gain a qualification at the end of it while also getting paid. My proudest moment is being told I’ve done a good job by my boss; it makes my day! Helping people, whether by doing the job or teaching someone else the trade, is what excites me about the future."
