First, I am beyond thrilled and humbled that SmartViz has won two prestigious awards at TechFest 2024: 🏆 Innovation Accelerator 🏆 Best Use of Technology: Smart Data Collection for Asset Management Winning against industry giants truly highlights our ability to transform how buildings and spaces are designed, operated, and optimised. These awards are a testament to the innovation, dedication, and talent of our amazing team. London based data and analytics company, SmartViz has been granted funding by Innovate UK for a 30-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Queen's University Belfast following the successful completion of an #AKTP. “And the winner is, … ” This one’s been in the backlog for a bit - slowly recovering dues after a study submission last week, but the positive is that professional photos are out now! I was double - or triple - honoured at New Civil Engineer #Techfest this year, as I got to judge the Innovation Accelerator award, lead the live judging session at the main stage and then announce the winner at the gala and give the trophy… And the winner was… SmartViz! Congratulations! A strong, innovative development and application of digital twin technologies with a solid value statement. Well done! This was hopefully my last stage appearance of the year and probably my favourite, taking the pulse of the industry’s innovations and, on top of that, seeing the joy of the winners from up close. Great to see the recent budget decision prioritise the refurbishment of schools! Investing in school maintenance isn’t just about repairs - it’s about unlocking the full potential of existing spaces. Many schools have untapped capacity and sub-optimal learning environments that, with a data-driven and people-centred design approach, could significantly enhance both space efficiency and learning outcomes. With a data driven approach that optimises quantity and quality of space, schools can accommodate more students, create much-needed spaces for nurseries, and elevate the learning environment for all pupils.
