After 5 years of hard work and dedication, we’re so proud to share that Samuel Fountain, our first degree apprentice, has completed his apprenticeship. This month Sam received the fabulous news that he had passed his CIBSE end-point assessment, a rigorous presentation and interview, which was the final hurdle. His BEng degree, awarded through University of the West of England, will soon be accompanied by his professional qualifications as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Associate CIBSE member (ACIBSE). Sam has set a great example and been a huge support to the four engineering apprentices now following in his footsteps. Sam has been mentored by Andrew Smith, who has been blown away by Sam's progress since joining us. An emotional day for all of us at Smith Consult yesterday as we celebrated with the very wonderful Martin Painton, beginning day one of his retirement! Martin has supported our team with his vast experience, happy smiles and daft jokes for over 7 years and it is with enormous gratitude and admiration that we send him off to start his next adventure, spending lots more time with his gorgeous family. Martin has worked in building services engineering for 48 years and over that time has built many friendships with colleagues, clients, suppliers and design teams. We have been thrilled to see the lovely messages shared with Martin as he approached his last working day with us. We are sure you join us in wishing Martin every joy and happiness for his retirement. #bestengineer #happyretirement

Christmas is coming and the Smith Consult team are very much in the festive spirit! Last Friday we had our team Christmas Meal, a lovely celebration of everyone's hard work this year and a fabulous end to a busy week.  Thank you to the Lost and Found in Bristol for taking such good care of us! This morning we had our Christmas Coffee Morning and Secret Santa gift exchange, complete with mince pies, baileys clotted cream and a round of pass the parcel!    #merrychristmas #christmascelebrations  

#Classof2024 We could not be more proud of Josie Hooper who graduated from the University of the West of England on Thursday with a BA (Hons) in Leadership and Management Practice. Josie has been supporting the Smith Consult team with all aspects of business management completing her degree alongside the demands of her work. It's been a balancing act that she has absolutely nailed! Well done Josie from the whole team! And thank you to UWE's Laura Castles and Katy Jefferson for your tutor support throughout Josie's degree. Melanie Smith, Josie's mentor, was thrilled to attend the graduation ceremony with Josie and her family: "Josie is such an integral part of the Smith Consult management team.
