Before starting my first business I had not worked in sales. I had no real commercial experience. But I was expected to generate ALL company revenue. Problem was I had little to no idea how... I didn't know how to: - Pitch my product effectively - Find my early customers in cost effective ways - Sign early customers to mutually beneficial contracts - Set those customers (and my business) up for success And I'm not the only one. Almost all founders struggle with this. (Although most don't admit it) Seven years on, after learning the tricks of the trade I wanted to do something about it. So we created the Snowballn' One Million event series! Where we bring in experienced founders who have built businesses well beyond $1m in ARR to share: - Revenue strategies that propelled their companies to $1 million in ARR - What did NOT work - What they would do if they started a company today On Friday we hosted the first of these and I would like to give a huge shout out to those that got involved! Our sponsors: TNW & Deel 👏 Our speakers: Chris Gerretsen, Robin Kiesler, Max Farago The people who pulled this together: Diko Kemmer, Sandra Mittica And a big thanks to everyone who came along! Here's to many more in 2025! 🚀 ❄️ #startups #founders

Here’s how a global SaaS client generated a 57% booked meeting rate with new platform sign ups, turning trial users → paying customers (and almost $100k of ARR growth) 👇🏼 I’ve been working with this client for the last couple of months to improve their sales conversion rates. Their ICP was signing up for the platform. They were receiving some onboarding emails from the client. But not nearly enough were converting to paying users. So what did we do? 3 things: 1. We stopped relying on the product to convert the user by itself. We inserted a human touch to complement what the product was already doing. 2. We leveraged three channels to get in touch with the trial user: Email, LinkedIn and phone (ew, yuck, not a phone call…) But 3 provided the REAL value: 3. We personalised each message to make sure it sounded human (not from the company or some shitty AI bot). Every one of these messages actually came from a human. Every message provided value and was focused around the key problem the client could solve for their ICP. And bang. Meetings were being booked. Why did we care about booked meetings? Because a booked meeting → proper discovery → tailored onboarding → signed customer. Before: A trial user received onboarding emails about how to use features from the company After: A trial user received personalised messages from a human centred around helping to solve a specific problem that they were likely dealing with, with a offer for a personalised onboarding if they wanted. Do you see the difference? We made all the messaging about the ICP. Not about my client’s business or product. This works because your prospect doesn’t care about your business or your product (sorry). They care about their business! So show them you do too… P.S. if you're a startup founder and: - You and your investors are expecting significant monthly growth - But sales just doesn’t seem to be working - And you want to find out why - So you can consistently have record revenue months Then I’m looking to work 1:1 with great founders who want to do just that. 2 spots are open. DM me "1-1" and I'll shoot you the details. Snowballn' ❄️ 🚀 #founderledsales #startups #SaaS #sales

Earlier this year we ran a founder survey with responses from the UK, mainland Europe, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, and the results were staggering... → 81 % of founders had never been in a commercial role before... → Yet almost ALL of the revenue responsibility fell on their shoulders... That’s like telling a sales person ‘right, now you have to be the CTO and start coding things’ Madness. → But they could not commit more than 1 - 3 hours per day to focus on sales... So, they’re expected to hit difficult targets, in a role they have never done, in significantly less time? Insane. → The main aspects of sales that kept founders up at night were: lead generation & outbound creating a predictable sales process negotiation. So, we decided to make an sales accelerator designed specifically for founders So that they could learn to sell and scale their GTM function... That only takes one hour per day in commitment... For 30 days! So, what’s in it? 📅 Daily Action Plans Quick, high-impact lessons that fit right into your day 💼 A Blueprint for a Scalable Sales Process From outreach to close, build a system that grows with you 🤝 A Community Share wins, learn from others and stay accountable 📞 Weekly calls With your cohort and the Snowballn' team Which will help you: → Create a GTM plan that works → Find your ideal customers Approach & attract your ideal customer → Open & CLOSE deals with your ideal customer → And fill your pipeline prior to Christmas... Over the last two days we have had founders from the UK, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand sign up! Do you want in? Hit the 'visit my website' button on my LinkedIn profile Drop your deets. And let's build some quality businesses! Snowballn' ❄️ 🚀 #founders #startups #sales

Today we’re launching something that is equally CRAZY and exciting… And I’m so f*king excited about it. Snowballn' is launching a FREE 30-day sales accelerator designed for B2B tech founders! Almost every accelerator that I have come across focuses on the same stuff - pitching, raising capital, networking, demo days & business model refinement. But in almost NO cases do these accelerators teach you how to sell the product that you have spent so much time building. AND these accelerators often cost you: → a heap of money → a tonne of time → or equity in your company… (Unless it’s Ycom, do ya really want to give a slice away…?) So we’re doing none of that. Instead, we’re offering you free knowledge, resources, tools and access to experts that will help you: → Create a GTM plan that works → Find your ideal customers → Approach & attract your ideal customer → Open & CLOSE deals with your ideal customer Which will help you to grow your pipeline significantly before Christmas and set 2025 up to be an incredible year! People have called me stupid for giving this away for free. But I don’t care. When you sign up here’s what you’ll get: 📅 Daily Actionable lessons – Quick, high-impact lessons that will help you drive pipeline and close deals 💼 A Blueprint for a Scalable Sales Process – From outreach to close, build a system that grows with you 🤝 A Community – Share wins, learn from others, and stay accountable 📞 Weekly calls - with your cohort and the Snowballn’ team So LETS GOOOO! I used to believe that the best founders built a product and then hired someone else to sell it. But I was dead wrong. The truth? The best founders are DEEPLY involved in early-stage sales. In fact: → Founders with commercial experience are 30% more likely to survive. → Startups with commercially experienced founders report 50% higher revenue in their first three years. → 60% of VCs prefer to invest in startups led by founders with a sales background. So why do many founders shy away from selling their own product? When I got involved in every deal, here’s what I noticed: → Increased credibility & trust As a founder, you’re the face of the company. Prospects know they’re dealing with someone with real skin in the game. → Handling the toughest objections You know the product inside and out. That means you can tackle objections like a pro and turn tough questions into deal-closing opportunities. → Faster decision-making As a founder, you’re often the final say in negotiations. Prospects love the attention from you— it helps you close deals faster. Don’t leave sales to someone else. Get in the trenches. You don’t need to be a sales expert to sell your vision—just get involved. Commit to it every day and the results will come. Agree? This gives me childlike excitement! I’m super excited to announce that Kadri Uljas has joined the Snowballn' team as the Head of Operations! Why does this give me child like excitement? → Kadri worked with me during my previous venture, JRNY | AI. Those who were also lucky to be graced with her presence will know that she is REALLY GOOD at this early stage startup thing. She’s great at prioritising what’s important and she’s operationally astute. → Kadri makes people around her feel great. You know that feeling when you meet someone who provides a calming influence, regardless of the situation? Yeah, that’s Kadri. In an early stage company, that’s a super power. → Kadri has been a CEO. She understands what’s required to build a successful company. A lot of venture builders get caught out by focusing on items that simply do not matter. Kadri does not. Oh and lastly: It’s an indicator that we’re onto something with the Snowballn' proposition! We’ve just spent the day planning world domination, so if you’re not already paying attention, maybe it’s time to? And let’s start Snowballn' ❄️ 🚀 #startups #founderledsales

How do you go from where you are now to $1m in ARR (and beyond!) in a predictable way? You create a solid GTM strategy that ALL of your leaders are aligned on. But, what's a GTM strategy? At a very basic level, a GTM strategy is a combination of five things: → Your market (and where you will play) → Your ideal customer profile + buyer personas → The value proposition (and the exact problems you solve for) → Your pricing strategy And: → Distribution - how you get your product into your customers hands (the fun part!!) Protos Labs know this, which is why they brought all of their company leaders together to co-create their strategy, align their leaders and make sure they are all pushing in the same direction. Because a GTM strategy is not one persons job. It's EVERYONES job. My message to you: Be like Simeon, Joel, Swee En, Johnathan and the rest of the Protos Labs team. - Bring your leaders together - Align on your GTM strategy - Go forth and execute 🚀 Your business will be so much better off for it. #GTM #startups #sales (PS, Snowballn' has been working with Protos labs for the last couple of months. Bookmark this company. They are going places! 🚀 )

As a founder, I grew ARR from $30k ARR → $500k ARR in six months. Here’s what didn’t help me do it: → An expensive sales rep (or reps) → Any form of partnerships → Reliance on product led growth → Reliance on some new AI tool → Reliance on an ad agency Instead: I started selling. I led every deal. ****Without any prior sales experience. And I believe that ANY early stage founder can achieve the same. If you’re an early-stage founder looking to grow your ARR, stop waiting for the perfect hire or agency... Start selling! Got questions about where to begin? Drop them in the comments or shoot me a DM. And let’s start Snowballn' ❄ 🚀

I foolishly took some time off last week while building a startup… And guess what happened? → Nothing burned down → I didn't miss any crucial deadlines → None of my customers were upset that I didn't respond immediately to emails Instead, I got to: → Spend some quality time with my parents and wife → Prolong the summer and get out in nature → Pause and reflect on a mental couple of months And I've arrived back in London PUMPED about taking my game and Snowballn' to the next level 😎 Remember, your business won’t fail because you take time off. But it will fail if you don’t. So let this post be a reminder that it's ok to take time off. It may just be the catalyst that takes your business to the next level. Happy building 🚀
