We're recruiting for an internal quality assurance officer. 📌 Internal Quality Assurance Officer The role of internal quality assurance officer is a key role which supports our culture of continuous improvement. Under the direction of the internal quality assurance and stakeholder experience you will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of a range of assurance activities. Key responsibilities: ✅ Support the design and delivery of the annual programme of quality assurance activities; liaising with key stakeholders to identify operational risks within our regulatory processes and develop independent audits and reviews to provide assurance that these processes are fit for purpose. ✅ Research, plan, design and manage the delivery of audits and reviews that you are leading on. We're hiring! We're recruiting for a payroll officer. 📌 Payroll Officer You will work within the finance and commercial team which sits within the wider people and business support directorate. The role is part of a small finance function that assumes a broad range of responsibilities including accounts payable, production of management and financial accounts, payroll and cash management. Key responsibilities: ✅ Support the senior finance and payroll officer with maintaining and improving the finance and payroll system, delivering effective solutions to meet the needs of our internal and external customers.  ✅ Proactively liaise with others throughout the organisation in their use of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, including communication through various mediums and the coaching of others, including board and executive staff. ✅ Ensure the accurate onboarding of new partners/workers including accurate data entry and recording of all payroll-related documentation. We recently published the results from a survey which asked social workers their thoughts on regulation, professional standards, and the role of social workers in society. Launched in Spring 2024, the anonymous survey was completed by 2,120 social workers in England, which is approximately 2% of Social Work England’s register. 86% of social workers felt that the professional standards were important to them and 90% said they understood how they applied to their work. We're recruiting for a case review officer. 📌 Case Review Officer You will make sure that fitness to practise cases subject to a reviewable sanction are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. You will offer guidance to social workers to successfully manage their professional practice and address any identified concerns whilst working within our legislative timescales. Key responsibilities: ✅ Communicate regularly to support social workers to keep them up to date on their case, making sure that our monitoring procedures are applied, to ensure we have the best evidence at review hearings and that our hearing process is efficient. ✅ Respond to enquiries from people raising concerns and from social workers involved in cases. This will include social workers, internal and external stakeholders, including legal representatives. ✅ Provide guidance and assistance to social workers with conditions attached to their registration to monitor and review their progress. Through our equality, diversity, and inclusion action plan we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment where our people can thrive. Supporting our people networks and forums to ensure they play an active role in shaping our culture is a key part of this. Recently our disability and neurodiversity network held an internal workshop on ‘Living with a Disability’, focusing on the challenges faced by people with disabilities and the importance of allyship in the workplace. During #DisabilityHistoryMonth, we’re sharing some activities from the session: - Boots hearing loss simulator - gave attendees a feeling of living with different levels of hearing loss. - Participants were introduced to the true scale of neurodiversity through a word-matching game. - One exercise focused on the true cost of living with a disability, highlighting the often-hidden expenses that go far beyond just medical costs. - Discussion on the importance of accessible communication - writing reports, emails, and documents that are easy to read and navigate makes a huge difference for people with disabilities. - We also took a deep dive into different forms of discrimination that people with disabilities encounter, drawing on real-world examples from the Equality Act 2010. Participants reflected on scenarios covering direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, and discrimination arising from disability.

We're recruiting for a hearings officer. 📌 Hearings Officer You will work with adjudicators, legal staff, and hearings case managers to progress hearings to conclusion while supporting fair and transparent processes. You will ensure hearings run smoothly and consistently and support adjudicators so they can make independent, evidence based, fair and transparent decisions. Our hearings are primarily heard virtually however some matters may be dealt with in person or a hybrid of the two. Key responsibilities: ✅ Attend and manage the smooth running of fitness to practise hearings and meetings to support our objective of protecting the public. ✅ Provide support, advice and guidance to all parties at a hearing including the legal adviser, witnesses and social worker on our procedures, regulations and rules. ✅ Provide high quality and professional customer service to stakeholders at all stages of the hearing process.
