Warm welcomes are in order for the latest addition to the Balcaskie Estate family at Balcormo - Vandyke Bros with the award-winning coffee roastery setting up shop in the East Neuk. The Vandyke Bros, founded by Managing Director Tony Vandyke, ethos lies in showing respect to the coffee farmers - who produce and nurture this crop, allowing it to take on the flavours of its location. As a roastery, their sole aim is to preserve and share this good work. They have won several awards for their coffee, including Great Taste Awards for the last three years and the prestigious three-star award. They are also now a ‘Great Taste Producer’. They join the Bowhouse monthly markets, which includes a wide community of producers including Butchery at Bowhouse, Scotland The Bread, Baern Cafe, East Neuk Market Garden, and Futtle Organic among others.

As representative of Accademia Italiana della Cucina in Edinburgh, it has been a real honour for me to award with the Diploma di Buona Cucina 2024 Cav. Victor Contini and Carina Contini for their Contini Restaurants & Events yesterday! The award recognises, in Italy as well as abroad, those Italian restaurants that respect the true Italian culinary tradition and meet top levels of quality and excellence. The Italian Academy of Cuisine, cultural organisation of the Republic of Italy, was founded in Milan by Orio Vergani in 1953 and aims to protect and promote the traditions and innovations of the Italian cuisine. Yesterday night was part of the programme of the Weeks of the Italian Cuisine in the World, 9 edition of an amazing initiative launched by Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale to promote and celebrate the true Italian culinary culture!
