Slane Irish Whisky was recently featured in an insightful Forbes article diving into how Rock & Roll and Irish Whiskey saved the iconic Slane Castle. Owned by the Conyngham family since 1703, Slane Castle has relied on innovation and a strong entrepreneurial spirit to sustain the estate over centuries. In 2017, the family joined forces with one of our clients Brown-Forman, enhancing the growth potential of Slane Whiskey. Since then, they have been producing triple distilled high quality whiskey sourced from mineral-rich water using the River Boyne. With nearly a decade of groundwork and a state-of-the-art distillery now operational, Slane Irish Whiskey is poised for an exciting future. This week, we worked with our client Briggs of Burton to celebrate a major manufacturing milestone for McMillan Coppersmiths and Fabricators, one of the oldest remaining coppersmiths in the world. We had the opportunity to witness two handcrafted copper stills begin their 85-mile journey to their final destination at Ardgowan Distillery Company Limited. George Crombie, Chief Operating Officer and Engineering Director at the Briggs of Burton Group, said: More than a million hammer blows have created each Ardgowan copper still. What is fascinating is that every distiller's still shape and design is different, creating a lot of variety in work for the team who build them. Ardgowan Distillery Company Limited is now nearing operational status and is due to be completed in early 2025.

Earlier this year, we organised a panel at the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, hosted by our client Organic Architects to discuss the environmental challenges facing the whisky industry. As a proud B-Corp agency, Spey is committed to driving positive change. We are pleased to share insights from the "Building Better Whisky" report, which explores the shift towards sustainable, low-carbon production. With contributions from industry experts, the report provides practical solutions for distilleries to balance tradition with innovation and meet net-zero targets. Sustainability presents a key opportunity for Scotch whisky to lead in environmentally conscious production.

Our Head of Digital, Chris MacRae, attended Amplify Marketing Festival as a representative of Spey and you can read his review article on The Marketing Society Scotland website below:
We’re still buzzing from the energy and inspiration at last month's Amplify Marketing Festival! It was a brilliant day in Edinburgh, where we gathered industry leaders, innovators and our marketing community. "By the end of the event, I felt a renewed sense of hope and inspiration. The diverse discussions, from the power of AI to the deeply human elements of marketing for good and the endless amount of examples that were shared, reassured me that meaningful change is not only possible but already in motion." 🔊 Read the full review from Paige Brown, Account Director at Carat UK: https://lnkd.in/e9p6mhZb "From the brazen and charismatic Barrington Reeves to the enigmatic humility of David Eustace, my takeaway from Amplify was clear: there’s no one-size-fits-all template for achieving a greater good through marketing. As we headed home, the 'ants' creative theme resonated more clearly than ever. Like a colony of ants, each with its unique role, we left as a collective of marketers inspired to work together towards a greater good. Amplify's 'Avengers' and 'Ants' alike… Assemble for a brighter, more purposeful future in marketing." 🔊 Read the full review by Chris MacRae, Senior Account Director at Muckle Media - a certified B-Corp: https://lnkd.in/ey_ucBFD 🎥 We’re also excited to share the highly anticipated Ogilvy Lecture, available exclusively for members. If you missed the session or want to relive Pete Markey's talk, members can now access the recording through your login on the website: https://lnkd.in/egvdWWW8

Such a fun day with some of the Muckle Media - a certified B-Corp and Spey team Chris Batchelor Chris MacRae Jacquelyn Whyte yesterday at The Marketing Society Scotland annual Amplify marketing festival. Expertly delivered by Lux Events Graeme Atha Zara Janjua Some key themes and takeaways included: 🏖️ We all have to go to Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity! 🤖 AI is having a huge impact in our industry, but we voted that it probably isn't the best tool ever (yet), it has its limits and fortunately for everyone in the room the human touch is still needed for true creativity 📸 David Eustace is a legend 😭 Pete Markey made us cry sharing some of the heartwarming work Boots UK is doing to be with customers for life - truly exceptional examples of the festival's theme - 'Marketing for Good' 🌎 We all need to expand our horizons, think globally and get out of Scotland sometimes for fresh inspiration, but crucially we should then bring it back home and share it with the fantastic community we have here 👩💻 Agencies rule (sorry clients we do love you too 😉!) 👯 We all know how to party afterwards!

This summer we've been helping our client Galloway Cheddar (Lactalis Group) with its largest ever charity partnership by using "cheddar for a ‘grate’ cause". The ‘Galloway Gathering Project’ is a nationwide campaign in partnership with FareShare UK, the UK’s largest charity dedicated to food waste for social good. The campaign aims to connect with people throughout Scotland’s villages, towns and cities to raise awareness of food insecurity and loneliness. This year, Galloway has donated the equivalent of 90,000 meals to those in need and we're currently working with established food trucks across Scotland to cook up special cheesy dishes using Galloway Cheddar for one off fundraising days where customers will be offered the opportunity to donate to FareShare.
