We are delighted to announce that we've secured planning consent from Aberdeen City Council - City Development & Regeneration for our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Rigifa Farm, Cove. This was a complex project with a number of technical and environmental challenges and we’d like to thank the Officers and Members at the Council for their thorough and constructive approach throughout determination. The project showcases how technical innovation can successfully address complex site constraints, whilst respecting existing land uses. This facility will play a crucial role in Aberdeen's #energy #transition, enabling greater renewable energy integration and enhancing grid stability. It represents another step forward in Scotland's journey to #net #zero. The team that delivered the consent for this significant energy infrastructure project included our lead planning agents, Sustainability Unlimited LLP, Energy Law Unlimited LLP, Neo Environmental Ltd and EPC Groupe working alongside our own project team. We’d also like to thank our landowner for his patience and support throughout this process. We're proud to bring this project through to planning consent and look forward to moving it into the construction phase as soon as possible. We were delighted to continue our close collaboration with Norwegian Offshore Wind by participating in their Meet&Greet session at the Wind Energy Ireland Tradeshow yesterday Gina Cassidy Peter Campbell Fergus Roe #wearesourcegalileo #offshorewind #floatingoffshorewind #norwegianoffshorewind
Exciting times for Irish-Norwegian collaboration, as four sites have just been selected for offshore wind development ✔️ With that in mind, Norwegian Offshore Wind attended the Wind Energy Trade Show in Dublin this week. Exciting news has been published lately with the terms for Ireland’s ORESS 2.1. This is the country's second offshore wind auction, and it's targeting the south coast of Ireland. The four sites have been selected for future projects , and the expected delivery is in 2032-2035. The first one is the offshore wind farm Tonn Nua. The Irish government has also proposed 750. million EUR in grid infrastructure and 99 million EUR for investment in the Port of Cork. -Several projects have been awarded with offtake agreements and will probably reach FID in a couple of years, says Alfred Risan, leader of the Working Group for Ireland and UK in Norwegian Offshore Wind. He adds: -The terms for the second auction round expected in early 2025 makes Ireland even more attractive for members of Norwegian Offshore Wind. Thus 2025 will be an important year in the Irish market. The timing for entering this market is now perfect. Ireland has objectives of 5GW by 2030 and in 2023 the first auction, ORESS, with 4 projects totaling 3 GW awarded in 2023. A second auction ORESS 2.1, was published last week with a prequalification in Q1 (2025) and the CfD Auction in Q2. 👇 Details ORESS 2.10 ✅ The auction includes both a site and offtake agreement. ✅ A single project will be auctioned, 900 MW Tunn Noa with the potential for expansion to 1080 MW. ✅ A pre-qualification round will be followed by an auction for the lowest strike price for a 20-year CfD. ✅ Bidders must have a filed a Maritime Area Consent (MAC) application to the Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA) within five working days of the final auction results. Together with our friends in Enterprise Ireland and NIMO we held a Meet&Greet session at the Tradeshow, with the objective of connecting companies and developers. Big thanks to Gina, Ronan and Debbie for the presentations! We had the pleasure of hosting our friends from The Kansai Electric Power co., inc. in Haugesund today! 🇯🇵🇳🇴 After a visit to Hamburg, they chose to make a stop at Sjøhuskleiva before heading home to Osaka. This visit provided an opportunity to share insights on developing domestic projects in Norway and Japan. Our collaboration with Kansai on the #GoliatVIND and #UtsiraVIND projects, contributes to Norwegian and Japanese efforts to strengthen growth in the floating offshore wind sector. 🌊 Source Galileo - Odfjell Oceanwind
