I had a wonderfully STEMAZING weekend working with families at Meta for their #TakeYourKidsToWorkDay We had a fantastic team of #WomenInSTEM role models and STEM Ambassadors to support with the activities and help families take part in some practical, hands on STEM activities with their families; all themed around camping. Shivani R. 👩🏽💻Pritanya F. Veera Bakhai Manuela-Lidia Grindei Teresa Cutino-Moguel Poppy Quesnel We explored our navigation skills, learnt our cardinal directions, made a water compass, created a magnetic storyboard, made musical instruments, learnt about the fire triangle, explored weather using some Air Zooka's and an energy stick and finally explored the materials and structure of tents. Big thanks to D&F Creative for inviting us to take part and for the great organisation on the day 🙌

Through the Smiths Group Foundation we partner with the fantastic STEMAZING to amplify the voice of women in STEM. As part of this relationship, our Internal Audit Manager, Karima H., is taking part in the STEMAZING Inspiration Academy. The Academy includes a range of training and workshops on public engagement skills before participants deliver a 4-week programme of online STEM sessions for young students. It’s hard to watch back a video of yourself 🙉 but I am keen to champion the work the fantastic women at the STEMAZING Inspiration Academy do 🎉 I’m really proud to play a small part in this incredible initiative and join other STEM Ambassadors with STEM Learning UK 📚 More than anything this year I’ve learnt how important it is to surround yourself with inspirational people, motivated business leaders and forward thinkers.
