We are thrilled to share the success of the Aylestone Leisure Centre solar refurbishment project, for Leicester City Council, which has exceeded all expectations just ONE year after installation! Highlights: - 285 MWh of energy generated—surpassing the predicted 250.8 MWh. - 12% greater CO2 savings than forecasted, reducing emissions by 55 tonnes annually (equivalent to planting 1,232 trees!). - Predicted energy cost savings of £74,000, 114% of estimates. - Leicester City Council set to recoup installation costs in just four years. Delivered by Stepnell, in partnership with our renewable specialists Step Energy Procured through Crown Commercial Service this project involved replacing the leaky roof and installing an 828 PV panel system—helping the leisure centre self-generate energy and reduce costs. This development features 16 energy-efficient timber-frame homes and a dedicated community garden, addressing the urgent need for affordable housing in Henbury. Back to Manchester yesterday for the Education Estates® Exhibition | Conference | Awards. Thank you to Pick Everard for the invitation to your breakfast event. Great way to start the day. Good to catch up with everyone and to make new contacts. Interesting opening talk on the main stage from Stephen Morgan, Minister for Early Education and Jonathan Dewsbury, Director of Education Estates and Net Zero. Key messages talked about the deficit of FE places, and the need to repair, replace and retrofit across the education sector. The need for schools to connect with nature and improve the health of students. Stepnell and Step Energy are working with local authorities and education establishments to make them more energy efficient as well as the construction of two new Forest Schools.

Works at New Kingsland are progressing rapidly toward completion! The site itself has presented unique challenges with its tight space, requiring precise planning every step of the way. This project has involved the demolition of an existing church to make way for 16 new homes, including houses and apartments, all associated energy & renewables contributing to the local community’s growth and development. #construction #housing #bristol #energy #renewables

Recently completed, Step Energy designed and installed the cutting-edge renewables scheme on the stunning new luxury Residential Care Home at Oakley Grange in Warwick.
