Congratulations to the Faircroft team on their excellent Considerate Constructors Scheme score of 43/45! The Assessor said: ‘The site's respect for its community was excellent. The site has a social value strategy which includes a good number of measures (including KPIs) to engage with and support the local community. A number of activities have either been carried out or are underway.’ ‘The site's care for the environment was also excellent. The project sustainability management workbook captures all of the environmental and sustainability activity proposed and this too contains relevant KPIs. There is a strong focus on energy management and in particular embodied carbon.’ ‘The site was providing a supportive and caring working environment with many good practices observed, particularly relating to improvement in well-being. Year 7 artwork competition We’re thrilled to have collaborated with Stepnell, the complete construction partner for a new leisure centre at Stychbrook Park! As part of their community engagement, they invited our pupils to participate in a competition exploring what a healthy lifestyle means to them. Led by Miss Blackham, Teacher of Art, and Mrs J Poppleton, Director of Careers, our Year 7 pupils submitted an incredible array of creative artwork. The winning pieces will be transformed into a mural displayed in the new leisure centre. A huge thank you to Natasha Heritage, Social Value Manager at Stepnell, for visiting us collect the artwork and for fostering this fantastic connection between creativity and career inspiration. Next year, we look forward to taking some of the winning pupils to see their artwork featured in the building. Exciting project update! The bespoke construction hoardings have been installed at New College Swindon, adding a unique touch to the site! These custom hoardings not only secure the area but also provide a creative preview of what the College offers. This is a fantastic way of blending safety with design and communications. This project, known as the Caseus Project, involves the construction of a brand-new Link Building, which will provide a secure entrance, modern reception area, offices, meeting spaces, and a covered walkway connecting two existing campus buildings. Procured through Procure Partnerships Framework the scheme is a testament to innovation and functionality.
