Steve Harper has been appointed SIB’s new CEO and will take up the role in January 2025. He is joining SIB from Invest Northern Ireland where he is the Executive Director of International Business and Skills. Steve will take over from SIB’s outgoing Chief Executive, Brett Hannam, who is retiring after almost 20 years with the organisation. Steve’s current responsibilities with Invest NI include facilitating inward investment and assisting companies in Northern Ireland in forecasting and meeting future skills requirements. THE STRATEGIC INVESTMENT BOARD LIMITED Company description: SIB supports government departments, local authorities and other public bodies by helping them plan infrastructure, deliver major projects and manage assets. Our work, directed by Ministers, is focused on supporting the delivery of the objectives set-out within the Programme for Government. SIB have four key responsibilities: • We prepare the Investment Strategy for Northern Ireland (ISNI) on behalf of the NI Executive • We help the public sector develop and deliver major programmes and projects • We operate the Asset Management Unit (AMU) • We help champion reform The majority of SIB's efforts are directed towards assisting the public sector to develop and deliver programmes and projects. Our role is to work in partnership with Departments to accelerate delivery timetables and obtain better value for the taxpayer.
