About us
Straw Innovations Ltd. is an agriculture-based venture that aims to make use of leftover rice straw. Straw Innovations was started in December 2016 as a spin-out from world-leading rice straw R&D. The company addresses the two key problems: 1) How to get the straw out of rice fields economically; and 2) How to upcycle it to make eco-friendly, commercially viable products.

Together with Chakra Giri Energi Indonesia (CGEI), we are fortunate to be accompanied by Anggri Hervani, Deputy Director of the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Land Resource Standardization (ICALRS), to visit and meet the team of Agus Hasbianto, head of the Agricultural Environmental Instrument Standards Testing Center (BSIP) of Pati, Central Java, to discuss the establishment of a profitable rice straw bioenergy demonstration in Indonesia. To achieve this, STRAW INNOVATIONS LTD has developed innovative technology that overcomes the barriers to harvesting rice straw in all weather conditions. This unlocks the potential of 560,000 metric tons of rice straw generated in Pati, Central Java, every year, and potentially 53.63 million Metric tons in Indonesia annually.
