This is exactly what we like to hear. Thanks George Budd. StructureFlow (yay)!
It’s autumn in Lincoln’s Inn Fields and that means mid-season review for our trainee solicitors - that’ll be me this time next year. It got me thinking about the last 3 months and what I’ve learnt and been doing. I think one of the daunting parts of being a late career changer is uncertainty about the nature of work in your new profession. So, I’ve given some thought to what I’ve been doing since I joined Farrer & Co in August. I know I’d have found this sort of thing useful when I was considering my career change and didn’t really have the contacts in the right roles to ask. I’ve been involved with: - Producing speaking notes for conferences - Writing case summaries and articles - Making knowledge bank resources for the team - Analysing and displaying data in Excel - Producing slide decks - Researching points of law and writing up - Document filing and management - Bundling (yay Bundledocs) - Searching for documents in various systems - Drafting client care letters - Attending Pro Bono Week events - Attending learning sessions delivered by counsel on trusts law - Drafting instructions for experts - Filing documents with the court - Investigating legal tech options for the team - Helping with the smooth running of events - Presenting to the team on aspects of the CPR - Creating mind maps for different matters (yay StructureFlow) - Reading disclosed material and producing notes - Document weeding to remove irrelevant documents - Going to the pub with colleagues* - Spreading the love for collecting Avios* *Just to prove there is a fun side! It’s been such a wonderfully eclectic mix of work. Everyone has been so supportive and interested in helping me develop the skills and knowledge I’ll need going forwards. I’ve learnt a massive amount already and it’s only been 3 months.

At StructureFlow we like to think positively. Amid all the talk around AI at the moment, here is a measured article from our Product Manager Mitchell Hucker, who thinks the future is bright. He takes a look at the history of similar seismic developments, and articulates what he believes the next few steps in an AI world will hold. Do you agree that #AI will be a force for good in your workplace?

I Love Canadians! I always knew it really - but now I'm really sure. We (StructureFlow) have had such a wonderful trip to Toronto, working with Innovate UK and the Legal Innovation Zone and meeting "Those in the know(ledge)" The Toronto inner circle. Such a fantastic event for our team Fiona McClune, Patrick Bartz and Alister Wyld in NYC last week 🗽 We loved connecting with everyone , hearing valuable insights and learning about the latest in legal tech. What were your key takeaways from the conference? #KMI2024 #legalinnovation #kmconf2024 #nycevents #knowledgeleaders #legalprofessionals #lawyersofinstagram #lawconference #innovation2024 #kmconference #networkinglaw
✈️Just touched down in London after an incredible week in the Big Apple 🍎. Very Grateful (capital G) for the opportunity to connect with brilliant minds and make meaningful connections at the @kmiforlegal conference. Huge thanks to Patrick DiDomenico and the team for hosting such a fantastic event! #KM&I2024 Key takeaways from the week: We should all try to harnass SALI. There were several Sally’s in the room ….which was a bit awkward- but there is only one that will truly revolutionise this industry (Damien Riehl - fabulous pitch! I’m all in!) 7️⃣Selling new tech solutions to lawyers requires careful persuasion of benefits, emphasising the value to their clients (sure) - but we need to tell them… like…7 times before they will give in!! (like getting my kids to eat new foods…huh!) 😔 🧬Human interaction is paramount in building lasting connections and brilliant tech. I didn’t learn this. I just felt it. 🤯I’m truly appreciative of all the innovative and clever minds that shared their valuable reflections and incredible ideas with me! You know who you are. Thank you.🙏 Excited for the possibilities ahead as we revolutionise the way we work. Exciting times! #TechTransformation #InnovativeConnections StructureFlow
