🚨Raw sewage spills have pushed levels of harmful bacteria in Belfast Lough beyond legal limits.🚨 With low monitoring levels and historic underinvestment, the sewage network in Northern Ireland is unable to cope with demands. 📢The final round of negotiations to establish a global treaty to tackle plastic waste pollution has finished without an agreement in place. The Government's first step to clean up our rivers and seas is a good start... BUT as it stands, their flagship legislation could give water companies the power to pass on their debt to their customers by increasing bills. 😲This won't just impact their own customers, but ALL billpayers.
