As Onwards Wave 2 SHDF Oldham project closes to completion, this case study from our contractors SBS summarises it perfectly. This project did have many challenges, and we will now take time to reflect on how we managed these challenges and how we can improve our services for the Wave 3 project. The overall impact of both the retrofit works and the added social value in the area is apparent. As the winter months come to an end, we have received great feedback from our customers who have definitely noticed a difference during the colder months! The hardwork and collaboration of all parties involved have contributed to the success of this project, thank you to everyone of you. Lets move onto Wave 3 and achieve equal results! Soon it will be announced which projects have been successful in their bid from the Warm Homes: Local Grant (WH:LG). WH:LG provides an opportunity of real scope to make large scale community impacts, whilst addressing many of the current crisis effecting households. This could be managed and delivered in conjunction with, or separately, to Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (WH:SHF) and acts as a further stimulus to drive retrofit employment opportunities, skills, training and supply chain development at a local level. We are one of the UKs largest contractors delivering large-scale housing energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects and have a long track record of also delivering owner-occupied / private landlord schemes too.
