We had our final Makaton session of the year, and of course, it had to be festive themed! As it was the final session, we split it into two parts. Emma, the Head of Every Cherry, split us into two teams to compete in a game of 'Guess the Sign'. The signs were, of course festive themed and the first team to reach 10 points won. It was great to learn signs such as 'Christmas Holiday', 'Angel' and 'Sleigh Ride'. The second part of our session included us learning how to sign 'Rockin Around the Christmas Tree' by Brenda Lee. We all had a great time, and we did put on a mini performance for our other colleagues in the office! Over this year, we've had a wonderful time learning new and fun phrases from this inclusive and accessible form of communication that includes speech, signs and symbols. Not only is she a fantastic designer, but Kirsty is also the author of 'Ernie's Mindful Journey' a heart-warming picture book that encourages mindfulness for young readers set to publish in March 2025. Who loves a quiz? We love a quiz, especially when it's festive themed! We took part in a fun and festive 'Guess the Christmas Song' quiz, featuring Every Cherry symbols! Not only was it a great way to learn more about the symbols that appear in our Every Cherry Symbolised titles, but it also brought out the competitiveness of some of our colleagues which was very fun to see! 😉 We've added a picture of the quiz so you can have a go and see how many answers you can get right! Sometimes you just need a work break. Filled with karaoke!😊 To celebrate our colleague Ella's birthday, we had a fun and festive karaoke session. Songs that were performed included 'Love is an Open Door' from Frozen and 'Merry Christmas' by Ed Sheeran and Elton John! Last night our Publisher Sanjee, and Head of Licensing, Tori both attended Childline's Merry Little Christmas Show! It was a magical evening filled with joyful, musical performances and celebrity guests. The evening also included a silent auction and raffle, with all the money raised going to Childline, the life-changing NSPCC service.
