The inside. team, including ArchitecturePLB and Scott White and Hookins, shared the full stage 4 design presentation and samples with Peter Marsh Consulting and the College team. 🎄 Is your Christmas tree structurally sound? 🎄 We definitely think it's ok to mention Christmas now...and so had to shout about a festive project we were involved with. Scott White and Hookins were appointed by Total Solutions to analyse and assess the overall load capacity for the primary structural elements of an aluminium framed 14.0m Christmas Tree, to sit in the middle of St Pancras Station. We modelled the structure 3-dimensionally to assess the capacity of the structural elements themselves against self-weight of the truss and self-weight of the tree fabric and presents (965kg in total), as well as for wind. We were also asked to calculate and confirm its ballast requirements to prevent overturning or sliding. Do you have a festive event or project we could support you with?
