About us
Our vision is to improve people’s life quality by the power of research, AI, and technology - making it universally accessible. We achieve this by harnessing high-integrity scientific knowledge, proprietary precision-driven data, AI-powered LLMs specialised in life quality, and human insights to derive authentic intelligence from individual and organizational collective data. By the power of AI, advanced research, and cutting-edge technology, we deliver predictive, actionable data solutions that empower human-centric governments, insurers, corporations, education, healthcare and pharma industries to improve life quality at scale. At the heart of syd is the Life Quality Index™ - a science-backed, AI-powered metric that quantifies life quality and improves overall human experience. The LQI measures 750+ KPIs across 9 dimensions - Physical Health, Social Life, Purpose, Emotional Health, Career, Self-Awareness, Financial Health, Brain Power, and Environment, enabling a personalized, adaptive framework for improving individual and organisational life quality. Powered by advanced AI, real-world evidence, and multidisciplinary research, the LQI™ delivers predictive, actionable insights for targeted interventions in preventive health, policymaking, and human-centric industries. We bring these insights to life through an AI-powered app for individuals, providing 24/7 personalised, preventive support; a real-time analytics dashboard for organizations, delivering predictive insights on life quality, preventable conditions, costs, and ROI; and industry-specific AI integrations via API, enabling precision-driven strategies and advanced predictive modelling. The platform’s metrics are impressive: a 48% reduction in stress, anxiety, and depression among members, 23% boost in productivity, 15% increase in retention, and a 10-25x ROI for organisations. A 3-month randomised control trial with NHS staff demonstrated a 12-16% reduction in clinical stress, anxiety, and depression.

The road to smarter decision support systems in medicine started decades ago, and we’ve come a long way since then. 🏥 Back in the ’70s and ’80s, Dr. Lawrence Fagan and his colleagues proved that computers could provide high-quality medical advice. However, there was one major hurdle: lack of patient data. In this week’s "Industry Experts Spotlight," Dr. Fagan reflects on how early expert systems revealed the need for electronic medical records to gather all patient information in one place. 📋 But even now, we’re still not fully connected - there are silos of information, with some records still being transmitted by fax. It’s a reminder that while we’ve made great strides in integrating technology into healthcare, there’s still work to be done.

Last week at LEAP 2025 in Saudi Arabia - one of the world’s largest tech events - Lorena P. took the stage to discuss the evolution and future of AI in healthcare and how syd™ Life AI is shaping the future of preventative health and life quality - in the Middle East and beyond. Around the world, the cost of preventable health conditions is skyrocketing. In Saudi Arabia, where Vision 2030 is driving ambitious health goals, the challenge is clear: 💰 $32.4B - Projected cost of managing NCDs by 2035 ❤️ 1 in 4 adults at risk of a heart attack within 10 years 💊 $6.4B+ spent on diabetes treatment, with cases rising Lorena shared how syd Life AI is delivering AI-driven solutions to meet these challenges head-on. A cognitive engine for action, our Life Quality Index™ - powered by a proprietary 70B-parameter LLM and 1.2 million research papers - translates billions of data points into precise, personalised, and scalable guidance. The result? Tailored strategies, personalised recommendations, and deep analysis across 9 dimensions of life quality, helping both individuals and populations move from insight to action. For Saudi Arabia, this means AI-driven solutions that reduce preventable health risks, optimize care costs, and improve long-term health outcomes, bringing Vision 2030’s goals to life. In Lorena’s words: "The time has come to take this technology and apply it to the greatest power in the world - people." 🚀💡 🙌 A huge thank you to LEAP 2025 for having us and for bringing together the world’s leading minds in technology, innovation, and AI - driving the conversations that will shape the future.

If transformative change in healthcare holds so much promise, why isn’t it happening more widely? Mark Davies, Chief Health Officer at IBM, explains that the barriers are complex. Healthcare systems often run so intensely that there’s little room to step back and rethink established ways of working. 🚑💨 This relentless pressure, combined with the industry’s inherently conservative nature and the critical need to ensure patient safety, creates resistance to innovation. Financial incentives that don’t always align with key health goals further complicate efforts to drive change. Despite these challenges, Mark believes that with the right approach, successful transformation is within reach.

Could we see software that’s not only accurate but more empathetic than a sleep-deprived doctor finishing charting at 1AM? 🤔 Artificial intelligence is already improving how we interpret medical data. 📊 For years, software has helped read ECGs, but the future holds much more. Dr. Lawrence Fagan predicts that in the next few years, AI programs with provider review will extend this capability across all areas of medical care - becoming a crucial tool in providing interpretations of scans and diagnostics with less effort for the provider. 🚀 And it doesn’t stop there. 🧠 Dr. Fagan also discusses how LLMs like ChatGPT are starting to draft responses to patient emails for provider review, sometimes with the draft sounding more empathetic than an overworked provider. This shift in patient communication could change the way we interact with healthcare software entirely.

“For Apple’s employees, the Apple ecosystem is not a walled garden. It is a prison yard. A panopticon where employees, both on and off duty, are ever subject to Apple’s all-seeing eye.” This startling claim, part of a recent lawsuit, paints a troubling picture of employee surveillance and privacy erosion. The allegations? That Apple requires employees to link personal devices and accounts to its internal systems, enabling access to data like photos, emails, and even location - potentially even beyond work hours. The lawsuit also points to broader practices like prohibiting discussions about pay equity and monitoring private devices. 📍 If true, these practices reflect a violation of boundaries and a lack of transparency in how employee data is handled. 📍 Even if not true, the fact this lawsuit exists reflects rising concerns about privacy and trust in the workplace. 💡 Data can be a force for good. When used responsibly and with clear intent, it can empower employees - enhancing productivity, improving experiences, and even supporting life quality through insights drawn from device data and other inputs. But for data to truly benefit employees, organizations must prioritise transparency, informed consent, and clear communication about how it’s used. Without trust, the power of data is lost. Instead of driving innovation and connection, it risks creating fear and distrust - fracturing relationships and undermining long-term success. Transparency, choice, and respect for personal boundaries aren’t just ethical - they’re foundational to sustainable, people-focused organizations. 🔒At syd life AI, we uphold our commitment to radical privacy by adhering to rigorous standards, including our HIPAA, SOC2, ORCHA, and ISO 27001 certifications. With GDPR compliance and end-to-end encryption, we prioritise transparency and security, empowering users without compromising trust. What do you think - how can companies balance data innovation with privacy and transparency? Share your thoughts below. 👇
