🎓 The future of AI adoption hinges on our approach to skills development - from apprentices to experienced professionals. In a recent panel discussion hosted by our Chief Research Officer Kate Hanaghan with Fujitsu, apprentices shared invaluable perspectives on how emerging talent views AI's impact on their career journeys. One clear takeaway: successful AI implementation requires a dual focus on technology AND people development. A fascinating insight from the conversation with Multiverse's CEO Euan Blair: investing in comprehensive staff training is fundamental to unlocking AI's promised productivity gains. This discussion reinforces that the path to successful AI adoption starts with people - their skills, growth, and development. #Apprenticeships #DigitalSkills #FutureOfWork #AIAdoption #CareerDevelopment
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of hosting a panel with a couple of apprentices. Shola Ogueboule, a Software Developer Apprentice, and Katie Amison, a Data Analytics Apprentice, both work for Fujitsu. We were also joined by Jason Daniels, Chief Digital Officer at the firm. One of the key areas we discussed was around just how critical reskilling and upskilling strategies are for the successful adoption of AI technologies. This applies to both those long-established in the workforce (guilty as charged) and those that might only be weeks or months into their journey. The ‘creative tension’ between investing in staff and creating a genuinely people-first culture comes when AI is deployed with the sole purpose of creating efficiencies or cutting costs. Are we at risk of ploughing too much investment into the technology and under-investing in the people aspect? How do we protect people and managing careers while rolling out AI at scale? Jason gave some context around this based on the spectrum of digital maturity amongst the organisations he has worked with. Both apprentices spoke brilliantly about their experiences in the workforce so far and offered some interesting commentary around how their peers view the impact of AI on their lives and careers. You can watch the full debate here: http://bit.ly/3Zwajje I also had the pleasure of interviewing Euan Blair, Founder and CEO of Multiverse. Euan emphasised that investment in training staff is essential in terms of realising the productivity gains AI promises. Watch one of the snippets here: https://bit.ly/3BifUSb
