The next generation of positioning technology built to improve worksite safety and prevent accidents.

About us

Tended leverages geospatial technology and behavioural science to transform the safety and efficiency of rail projects. Organisations can map out safe work zones within an online Dashboard and attach devices to assets including on-track plant (OTP), on-track machinery (OTM) and protection equipment. This provides enhanced worksite visibility by displaying their live location, improving site safety and reducing the risk of incidents, such as points run throughs, collisions and objects left on the line. Wearable devices can also be assigned to workers, which alerts them immediately if they leave safe working limits to help them regain situational awareness. Multiple Network Rail routes and principal contractors are now using Tended to improve worksite operations, including Siemens, SPL Powerlines, Story Contracting and Irish Rail. Tended’s geofencing technology has been named by TIME as a Best Invention and has won multiple awards including the Rail Business Awards, Railway Innovation Awards and Digital Leaders 100 for Geospatial Initiative of the Year. We adhere to the industry's highest safety and security standards, including ISO27001, ISO9001 and Cyber Essentials accreditation. We work alongside our customers to better understand key risks and safety challenges within the industry and continually develop our technology to address these. We believe that everyone has the right to go to work and return home safe every day and are proud to provide the tools and insights to make sure this happens.

  • Exciting update about our deployment of geofencing in Ireland! 🇮🇪 For the past few months, we have partnered with AMC Training & Consultancy Ltd to deliver geofencing across Ireland's rail network through our customer Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail. This marks the first time our system has been used on Irish infrastructure, helping to enhance worksite safety and project efficiency. Through this partnership, Irish Rail was able to elevate their safety standards even further, and Tended's system helped to support the: ✅ Mitigation of possession and protection irregularities ✅ Prevention of equipment left on the line ✅ Effective segregation of worksites and areas of work ✅ Safe access and egress for both plant and individuals In our latest case study, we take a look at how Irish Rail applied Tended's geofencing technology to achieve this and help elevate safety standards across its rail network. • Customer Spotlight: Network Rail North & East 📣 Our customer Network Rail North & East has recently been using Tended’s geotagging solution in Retford to enhance track worker safety and improve worksite visibility. The success of this has now led to the expansion into further projects with the route early next year. In our latest customer spotlight, we explore just how Network Rail North & East are using Tended’s solution to help: ✅ Ensure precise placement of protection equipment to ensure proper demarcation of work sites. ✅ Verify that no equipment or objects remain on the line after work completion. ✅ Reduce risks associated with road-rail vehicles (RRVs) and prevent unauthorised vehicle movements onsite. Huge shout out to Trevor BarkasTrevorB, Martin burns and Nicholas Fagan for their success with this project and for championing innovative safety technology! • Last Friday, we had the pleasure of attending Story Contracting Limited's Eastern bi-monthly meeting at their Normanton Depot! This event brought together suppliers to showcase the cutting-edge innovations being implemented across worksites to elevate team safety and efficiency. We were delighted to demonstrate how Tended’s geofencing technology is making a positive impact on site, enhancing worker safety and streamlining project processes for greater productivity. Tended’s Head of Behavioural Science Jules Reed delivered presentations on the importance of early worker engagement, followed by situational awareness sessions, while Matthew Silvester LISM hosted live demonstrations throughout the day, giving attendees a hands-on look at how our system is transforming safety practices. A big thank you to Dan Jones for inviting us to be part of this day. It’s always great to see our technology in action and connect first-hand with the teams driving positive safety change in the industry! 👏
