Mishcon de Reya Webinar with special guest Jessica Cath. "FCA Supervision Financial Crime and Early Intervention" Tuesday 21st January 2025 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Register here https://lnkd.in/gWe5VaVG The FCA has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling financial crime as a top priority in its five year strategy. The recent approach of the FCA has been to make full use of its supervisory powers as an alternative to enforcement against firms. In this webinar regulatory lawyer Guy Wilkes and Financial Crime expert Jessica Cath will talk about their experience in dealing with the FCA, including practical strategies for avoiding unwanted regulatory attention and managing interactions with the FCA. The session will also provide guidance on responding to feedback letters, when it’s appropriate to challenge the FCA’s position, practical tips for dealing with remediation projects and skilled persons reviews alongside strategies for avoiding enforcement. Guy Wilkes is a partner at the law firm Mishcon de Reya, specialises in regulatory disputes and has been involved in some of the FCA’s highest profile investigations against both individuals and institutions. He was formerly a member of the FCA’s senior leadership team and had responsibility for developing enforcement strategy, especially in relation to financial crime and anti-money laundering where he chaired the FCA’s cross-divisional working group. Jessica Cath is the financial crime partner at Thistle Initiatives, a regulatory compliance consultancy, working with a range of firms to build, scale and assure all elements of the financial crime framework. Jess has worked with start-ups to Tier 1 Banks to test and transform financial crime controls through growth phases or under challenging circumstances when facing regulatory enforcement. Jess has also conducted US monitor and s166 Skilled Person reviews globally. Mishcon de Reya LLP @guyrwilkes @jessica-cath

About us
Offering A Clearer Perspective The Association Of Professional Compliance Consultants, or APCC, is the membership organisation for compliance consultants who advise firms who are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or the Prudential Regulator Authority (PRA) in the UK. Established for over 20 years, we're the authoritative membership body for Best Practice Guidance for Compliance Consultants. The APCC works with Members to ensure they meet the Professional Standards. As the need arises the Standards are developed and modified. Members will be consulted on proposed changes until broad agreement is reached, at which point the Professional Standard is adopted by the Steering Council and member firms notified accordingly. This company page shows the breadth and depth of information at the fingertips of the APCC. We plan to share all important information with our followers. However, for in-depth reports, we recommend you request to become a member of the APCC GROUP; the link for which is on this page under 'Featured Groups'

MEET THE TEAM - Gabby Holloway "As Operations Manager of the APCC, I am responsible for the efficiency and day-to-day running of the association. You will often find me attending working groups and organising upcoming events. Aligning with the Executive Team, we work hard to ensure our strategic plan is followed in order to create the best service and community for our members, affiliates, strategic partners, and stakeholders. Outside of work, you will find me exploring the outdoors and visiting other countries (at any chance given), with my two young sons and husband."
