Are you fully supporting and developing your pool of internal coaches?    Over recent years there has been a significant rise in individuals within an organisation who hold a coaching qualification and go on to operate as an ‘internal coach’ (this is often in addition to another, more sizeable, role held within the company), together with leaders who receive training to develop their coaching leadership style, often referred to as ‘leader as coach’.     Both approaches can provide a huge asset to an organisation and have benefits such as: increased employee engagement; enhanced employee performance; improved leadership development: and a greater engagement with change programmes.     In this article we review the unique challenges that internal coaches / leader as coach face, together with how to get the most return from this significant investment, whilst keeping everyone involved safe, through the provision of supervision.     #LeadershipDevelopment #LeaderAsCoach #EmployeeEngagement #OrganisationalDevelopment #CoachingCulture #WorkplaceWellbeing 

“Ever found yourself irritated by someone you work with?  Or maybe you feel that you simply can’t communicate effectively with a colleague – they don’t get you and you don’t get them? Sometimes of course, these feelings may develop into outright conflict – arguing, speaking over each other, raised voices or worse! As a coach to many C level leaders and senior executives, I have come across all of these situations and most times, the executive feels it’s the other person’s fault. We assume that the other person’s behaviour has more to do with their personality than the situation we are in, whilst believing the opposite of ourselves.
