A busy start to a busy week kicked off with a visit to our wonderful member The Castle Hotel Taunton to meet Caroline Mullan and check out the venue space available. Keep an eye out for an event announcement in the coming weeks. It was real treat to see some of the bedrooms available too. From there a quick hop across to see Adam and John at GB NRG to discuss their recent membership of the Chamber and all we do to Connect, Promote & Support the local business and wider community. Did someone say celebration lunch? It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to celebrate the recent OUTSTANDING Bridgwater & Taunton College Ofsted inspection and catch up with connections David Crew Lucy Hawkins Joanna Gale Chris Ridgewell Natasha Astill Claire Pearce to name just a few. We are truly blessed to have such an incredible further education provider on our doorstep and we're proud of the partnerships we forge together. Taking a few moments extra to chat with Tash and Chris about the upcoming Sedgemoor Business Conference was the icing on the cake. 👏 Thoroughly enjoyed another Albert Goodman Business Club at The Castle Hotel Taunton. Food was simply divine, service was 1st class and the company was wonderful. Lovely to see a few familiar faces in the creative industry Sally Maidment, Ritchie Cridge and of course Trish Caller, always a pleasure 😀 I always find that these kind of events are important (as long as you choose the right ones of course), not just because you keep yourself out there, but for many people, and for myself as a business owner, it's also great for your mental health. They give you a buzz, because as humans, we love to connect with people ❤️ Today I met someone new, that I really enjoyed talking to. We had something in common and that was being hard of hearing. I am 100% deaf in my right ear, which many people I have known for years, do not know. This was due to having pretty bad mumps when I was a little girl, which caused nerve damage and therefore I can't wear a hearing aid. These types of events, I will admit, I find really challenging with my hearing and I have to concentrate a lot to try and pick up on conversations or lip read. Fancy seeing what I had for lunch today?! 😲 It was a classy affair at the Albert Goodman Taunton Business Club Lunch at the endearing The Castle Hotel Taunton. We were warmly welcomed by the gorgeous Tegan Webber, the lovely Robin Clempson and the entertaining Dan James. We chatted, we wined and we dined on two fabulous courses. 👌 I particularly enjoyed chatting to the talented graphic designer, Sally Maidment and the comedy genius, Trish Caller. Fabulous ladies! It was a great event and I'll be booking on to the next one! Not ALL because I like to be out and about meeting new people, but because I run the odd event or two and it's useful market research, right?! If there's a great event on, I want to go.
