A Huge Success for Our First Pickleball Tournament in Dornoch! This weekend, we hosted the first-ever Pickleball Tournament in Dornoch, and we think it’s also the first in the Highlands! With 16 amazing participants, we enjoyed a day of fun, and competition, all whilst supporting a wonderful cause The Dornoch Cathedral. We are thrilled to announce that we raised £203 thanks to everyone who joined us, whether to play, cheer, or volunteer. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by all made this event truly special. We hope this is just the beginning of many more pickleball tournaments to come in the Highlands! #Pickleball #CommunityEvent #Dornoch #TheHighlands

Our Highlands and Islands team took the chance to enjoy an unusually sunny Sunday together playing a little #pickleball. “Outside of work I am the Chair of The Dornoch Area Community Interest Company (DACIC). This year we completed our latest project -The Dornoch MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) - and since April I've been heavily involved in supporting junior tennis sessions and running adult pickleball sessions,” said Luke Watson, Triage Senior Operations Manager. “I invited the team down to try the fastest growing sport in the world (!) and we finished it off with a well-deserved pub lunch.” #SundayWellSpent #TeamDay #HighlandsAndIslands

We’re so pleased to confirm that we have been awarded £500 from Royal Dornoch Golf Club Community Fund. The Club has supported so many local causes and we are delighted to be among the recipients. We have also just learned of a successful application to Highland Council Ward Grants for Sutherland resulting in an award of £1,000. Together these two recent successes will cover almost all the costs of installing a dedicated electric charger at the Dornoch Hub. This will not only provide a more convenient service for our volunteer drivers, but will also help us accrue further savings by accessing electricity generated from The Hub’s solar panels. We would like to thank both Royal Dornoch Golf Club and Highland Council for their recognition of our Community Transport Scheme and the environmental and financial benefits of this new development.
