🎙️ The Hiring Chronicles: Your Essential Podcast for Talent Acquisition Success 🎙️ I was recently told by a close friend “sometimes you think you’re always right”. Other than making absolutely no sense I’m sure 95% of people who know me would understand exactly what she meant. However, it does make me value the influence of what I’ve experienced over the past few months and how many times I’ve changed my perspective about something that previously I wouldn’t have considered. Context: Amy and I are launching a new podcast (The Hiring Chronicles). Before you start with the eye roll and “who isn’t doing one?” …hear me out. Most podcasts in the tech industry are either by tech vendors themselves, analysts (paid), or people that pander to the guests with no real objective other than to shout about their products, services or themselves?! This isn’t that. It can’t be. It’s got me as a co-host. I pander to nobody. TRUTH So why subscribe and tune into The Hiring Chronicles? We’re dispelling myths, cutting through the BS and creating content that hasn’t be done before. Season 1 is dedicated to hiring and recruitment. We talk DEI, bias, building a brand, candidate experience, building your own company, HR transformation, implementing new tech and all the juicy stuff in between – including a Nandos debate, becoming an entrepreneur, learning from the best and the list goes on. If you don't know, now you know.

  • Where is #linkedin heading? Our posts are aimed at #TA with a simple aim of extending our reach and creating more noise. We want the folks in TA to know that they can get their voices out there using our growing platform. But what of LinkedIn? 20+ years ago LinkedIn was very different. If your profile pic wasn't a headshot in a suit & tie were you even serious? Nowadays we see Steven Bartlett and The Diary Of A CEO taking the platform over in terms of trends and being heard. It's becoming more acceptable to be "real" on social. People sometimes say negative stuff and it's okay?! But is LinkedIn a functioning job board? I must admit, it's not where I first think of to look for a job, so is it time that we reconsider the impact we have using it to #hire? LinkedIn is more the place to build a public voice and showcase culture in my opinion. Would LinkedIn Voice ever become a feature similar to Glassdoor but with class?   • Firmly dusting the cobwebs off and getting ready for some momentum in #2024. Last year we found our feet and delivered content for the first time ever. Mistakes: ⏲ Timing: As much as we love ourselves and love our guests the episodes were too long. We adjusted them and realised we prefer shorter, punchier content ✂ 2 is better than 1. We decided to cut our episodes in 2, with a "get to know" followed with a "value focused" structure. Still finding the right balance and I don't like breaking natural flow. We produced episodes regularly, but with not much in between. This will continue to evolve. 🤐 Provocative content is hard to produce when you're employed. We want to push boundaries and whilst we're 100% independent and not endorsed by any company, it's hard to be too "out there". That said, real opinions is what we want, but guests also need to think about their future 🤞 Onsite is reliant on transport running smoothly. Erm. Trains. Nuff said 📚 We can bring more value than our episodes alone. We're actually experts in TA tech and deal with Heads of TA every day. We can share more insights than we do. Repetition is critical to our growth This year we're going to learn from the past and improve. We've built a mini community and I'm not entirely convinced of our reach yet. Our asks: 👀 Keep an eye out for some new content being released over the coming weeks. This is an infinite game and so we're not in a rush to produce shoddy episodes, so be patient young Padawans great content is coming (shoutout Fuchsia Carter). 💡 Topics for 2024. Send us ideas. Send us potential guests to get on. We're an open book. 🙌 We're coming back and we've got new ideas, better trailers and just all round awesomeness with some fresh faces that we love listening to.   • #mondaymotivation It's okay. 👍 It's okay to not be hitting your target. Sometimes life gets in the way. Perhaps personal issues are stopping you or changing your capacity to work in the way you once did. Perhaps you're just behind. It's okay 👍 It's okay to not be doing what you said you would Look at us. We haven't kicked off 2024 with new content, new podcast episodes, new anything really. And that's okay. Our guests couldn't attend in December, then the holiday period hit, then January is just bleurgh. And that's okay. The world will keep turning 👍 It's okay to feel shit Social media is fake. No influencer or social butterfly lives the way they portray. People are lonely. People suffer. People are worried about a ton of stuff. It's okay. You're not alone and your personal worries are definitely someone else's worries too. You're not being daft. Today is the bluest of blue days. But what if it was turned on it's head? Why is blue so bad? Obviously Man United fans would tell you why, but other than that let's just take this day and say "NOT TODAY". We get through this Monday and every day from this one forward is easier. Suddenly it ain't too bad. Start planning what you're going to do tonight and set your stall out. Today is not going to be a detractor. And that is more than okay. 😎

  • Be honest, did you wake up this morning in a good mood? 🤔 The idea of redefining success away from money and the title of jobs, is genuinely one that I think could make a huge impact to the ‘vibes’ of our weeks. While money is of course important, it's not the sole measure of our achievements.
