A healthcare recruitment agency set up by a woman after her son suffered two catastrophic brain injuries is celebrating outstanding growth. Care Connection Partners was established by managing director Deborah Stock in February 2021. After working in the healthcare arena since her grandmother became ill in 2008, Deborah was inspired to set up her own business after her son, Maxwell, now 18, suffered injuries in two separate accidents. Her mother, Tres, then suffered a serious stroke, which meant they both required care. Having witnessed first-hand how available care services should not be delivered, Deborah decided to set up her own company to ensure anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves in a similar position received the correct support. Initially based in Hull and the East Riding, with its head office on Hessle Road in Hull, Care Connection Partners now operates across the country and has three satellite offices in London, Leeds and County Durham. #healthcare #care #socialcare #health #recruitment https://bit.ly/49HlaLL

Rural broadband provider Quickline Communications Limited has taken a significant step in its commitment to nurturing regional talent by welcoming its first cohort of telecoms apprentices. The group of eight, aged from 18 through to mid-40s, come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wide range of experiences to their new roles. After an intensive induction and training programme, the apprentices are now gaining hands-on experience, shadowing qualified engineers in the field as they install full fibre broadband to rural homes and businesses across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. #apprentices #apprenticeships #talent #broadband #telecoms https://bit.ly/3ORoiep Sean Royce Kathryn Jeffery Gemma Bell

KCOM has marked the end of its 120th anniversary year with a bang – benefiting its three charities of the year. The broadband provider has handed over £6,531 to each of its three official charity partners of the Year, Hull & East Yorkshire Children's University, Hull and East Yorkshire Mind and Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire. The cash was raised by a number of fundraising events held throughout 2024 including a sponsored 120km ‘Tour De KCOM’ cycle challenge, sponsored runners in the Hull 10k and an epic, three-day 120k walk across the region, starting in Filey and ending at the company’s Hull city centre headquarters. Money raised was then matched by KCOM to add to the total. #community #charity #CSR #broadband https://bit.ly/41uZCQt Tim Shaw Ian Midgley Louise Babych Anna Mills

Students at Bishop Burton College and Riseholme College met in a purpose-built virtual classroom to mark national T Levels Week. Bishop Burton, near Beverley, and its sister college Riseholme, on the outskirts of Lincoln, held the event for their T Level Agriculture, Land Management and Production students. T Levels are two-year vocational qualifications equivalent to three A Levels that combine classroom learning with industry placements. The colleges have been using virtual reality as part of the curriculum for some time but the meeting was the first time T Level students from both campuses had interacted in such a way. #TLevelsWeek #TLevels #education #vocationaleducation #furthereducation #FE #students #virtualreality #VR https://bit.ly/3Bp7sQT Danny Metters Danny Brett Beth Curtis Caroline Reid

Thousands of people lined the streets of Hull and the East Riding to cheer on rugby league and fundraising legend Kevin Sinfield during his latest running challenge. The former Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club player ran through the region as part of his ‘7 in 7 in 7’ challenge to raise money for those suffering from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and their families, as well as increase awareness of the condition. It is the fifth of Sinfield’s seven planned challenges, which he launched after his close friend and teammate Rob Burrow was diagnosed with MND. He died, aged 41, in June. So far, Sinfield’s challenges have raised around £10m for the MND community. His latest fundraiser, tagged ‘Running home for Christmas’, is seeing Sinfield run 50km (31 miles) per day, broken down into 7k blocks, across seven regions of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, over seven days. #MND #MNDcommunity #RunningHomeForChristmas https://lnkd.in/e-Dkr5u9
